The ODWC has been stocking the Dolese Park pond in OKC for the past couple weeks with trout. As of now, I've been told they put 700 in so far. I've been out a couple times this year and have not caught one trout. Yesterday, however, I caught 8 decent sized crappie within 2 hours. They were hitting on sweet whole kernel corn from a can. Get out there if you can. Be ready though, it's pretty crowded with folks trying to pull in the rainbow trout!

Spent a couple hours at Dolese today and caught nothing. I didn't have any corn so I used a small jig. I'm going back to corn tomorrow! When I got there a truck was unloading 500 lbs of trout so maybe that will pick up soon.
Hello Famoussmiff,I am the old grey bearded man talking to you at dolese a few days after you caught those nice crappie.I never did catch any trout,about 4:30 they started hitting the top of the water like they were feeding on something and sometimes jumping clean out of the water.I stayed till almost dark and moved down the bank and saw afew guys catch some crappie.It was nice talking with you and you sharing your info about the crappie fishing.I would have never thought you could catch crappie 3ft deep this time of year.I will be looking for you next time out.Dont care if trout are biting or not I will have my crappie baits!
Great meeting you too Papascruggs! I haven't been out since that day. I'm thinking about hitting up Crystal Lake. Last year I had some luck off the dock.
are you catching the crappie near the fish attractors? I had no idea crappie were even in there - I've caught a few trout out there and had a guy tell me there were some catfish in the pond but haven't seen anyone catch one
OKC newspaper today reported a new record Crappie at Dolese. 3.3 lbs checked in at Jones Bait & Tackle on Jan 29.

I've been out there about 10 times and have caught only 3 trout. I've not seen or talked to anyone at Dolese that have caught over just a few trout. Knowing what they have stocked, there must be over 3500 trout in that pond. Hopefully they will start biting soon. I was out there twice when the crazy crappie catch was happening. Most were being caught at the buoy on the northeast side of the pond. There must have been over 200 crappie pulled out of there in two days. All the ones I saw were nice size, too.
