Ohhhh noooo. Not to purdy tto eat. Home made pico de gayo, angel hair pasta in a lemon-Buddha sauce topped with parm cheese and asparagus cooked in bacon. Dang fine welcome home meal. Best crappie cakes I've ever cooked

It was fine man. That's angel hair pasta. Boiled it n put it in a skillet with olive oil n Buddha. Squeezed a lemon on it at the last minute.
Give us some direction on the asparagus with bacon..... I love that stuff.

Think the crappie cake recipe is in the recipe thread already. I made them smaller this time. made em, put them in the fridge to set and then into a milk, egg wash, then into Panko bread crumbs before they went into the DEEP oil. I usually just put budda and a tad bit of EVOO in the skillet but wanted to try deep fat frying them. Werked better.
I blanched the Asparagas for about a minute, then to an ice bath to stop the cooking. Then just cut up 3 strips of bacon, fried it til crisp and removed the bits. Toss in the Asparagas, a pinch of S & P and let it cook a couple minutes, tossing every few seconds. At the last minute, give it a shot of lemon juice. Real easy
