JIG SWAP 34 sign up

hello and welcome to the first jig swap of the year i'll be your swapmeister for this event lol.

and since here in western md we have ice on all the lakes ( still not thick enough for me to get on )

here we go since this is going to be a winter looking twards spring jig

the only 2 stipulations that i am going to say for this tye is a bit of white for winter and legs for the spring hatch
so that should be easy something white with legs any portion can be white head legs body tail you pick .

so lets try to get some tyers in this one and start the year off right ,
deadline for sign ups will be saturday the 12 which is also my birthday happy b day to me lol.

alrighty we are up to almost a cool half dozen. and just think we are only half way through the week of sign up i'm guess ing that jig mail date will be the 19 that will give everyone a week to get them tyid it may not take that long then as soon as i get them all they will be mailed out the next day back to everyone if all goes as planned .

alright fellas sorry i'm just posting now but had some things come up so guess it will be just us 6 for the swap .
guess jigs will need to be mailed by sat the 19th if that is ok with everyone and as soon as they arrive i will get them seperated and shipped back out .

got mine finished up yesterday i've been under the weather here the last few days so when i had a lil gumption i went ahead and got mine tied well maybe i shouldn't make it sound like it was a big job but when you feel as bad i i was it was rough lol.
dang happy birthday my butt i think jack danials was out to kill me lol.

alrighty fellas just for an update no jigs arrived today so guess will have to wait for tuesday as i dnt believe the mail goes on martin king day .

okey after the semi long weekend with mon. being mlk day and the mail didn't run i got 3 packages today razoredge stumphunter and yellow jackets jigs have arrived and fellas i must say dandy job .

as soon as i get rocky and mjms jigs in i will ship them out . the temp was a cool 12 degrees here today in md . good day to stay inside and do something warm . but i had to go help my brother with some furnace work so i got to stay out in then weather all day that hot shower about put me to sleep lol.

Little delay on my end, mine are in the mail today, you ought to have them by Friday.

now has anyone heard from rocky he would be the one we would be waiting on guess if nothing heard by sat i will swap the jigs and get them back in the mail by monday the 28th .

ok everyone still waiting on mjms jigs buthe aid they were on the way but have heard nothig from rockywatson don't know what is going on there .
but after the mail goes here sat i will swap the jigs and get them back out monday . thanks for participating and the best part is having fun doing it. i will drop in again sat afternoon and let out the final tally of who is here and who isn't and do my thiung lol.

I received my jigs today. Thanks to all that was in this swap.

Looks like we need to start a Jig-Swap list of ''Banded From Swaps'' to those that sign up for a swap and never complete the swap. I have seen this over and over the last few swaps. Enough of this happening that many members won't sign up anymore, it's sad but something needs to be done to get these swaps back to where they use to be.

yep that one was mine stump hunter sorry i forgot to get my name on there . my son was helping me he is 8 and when i relized that i didn't put my name on the hook he had them sealed and so i was kinda sol as i know how them envolopes are heck i would have never got them back closed lol.

well stump it does happen when some guys don't make it into a swap for one reason or another but it would be nice if they could say why but then again there might have been something that is more important than getting a jig tied or out .

but i have fun either with 5 or 50 well 50 may be streching it that would make for a tired fingers lol. but bring it on i'm ready.

but thanks again fellas and lets do it again sometime .

Scott I have no problem when someone has to drop out and does it the right way, things come up in our lives we can not control and tying jigs are not that important but when someone joins one of these swap they commit to each person that joins that they will follow the rules of the swap. These swaps are for everyone to enjoy and have fun exchanging our hand tied jigs. To me the swaps have got to a place where they are no longer enjoyable.

All the old timers have been run off or are discusted with the way the swaps are run. I used to never miss a swap, but won't do another one. Swapmeisters fault, not the tyers. You need a Swapmeisters list, and you need to stick to it. You don't need one person running several in a row just to get the gifts for running it. Good luck. Would like to see some old timers to come back.

well i was in on alot of the first swaps and it was a blast heck 25 or 30 jigs at a time and it didn't take long for a fella to gather jigs from the swaps and some of the tying styles man oh manbut as things go it just nature of the beast and that is how it happens just a little at a time . i know that i haven't been as active as i used to be on the board and that comes from other things going on here at home not saying that my fishing has slacked but it i guess is one of those special times when i get a chance to go .

but figured i would reply and hope things get better with the swaps as i really enjoy them and hunter i hope you didn't think that i wanted to host another swap back to back with my reply as "lets do it again sometime" heck i'm game to tye some to swap as we speak but not that i want to host one .

well i'll get off my soapbox and back into the dark lol.
