I have it as my main unit. I really like it but I am not to tech savy. So have not checked out all the features.
Bama do you use the gps to track very much
I have this unit also. I have been pleased with it. I like its ability to mark a spot, which it creates a snapshot picture of the structure/cover.
Thanks joey i got one for christmas and was trying find out a little about it. Do you do very much troll fishing with it.
its a good one--I have one at my console.
Have one myself. It's a great little unit. I like mine alot.
I have one and like it alot. Clarks hill is down so low, it's nice to use the gps to stay in the channel and keep from tearing a foot or hull up.
Has anyone got it mounted on trolling motor, is there any interference with the unit being there
I have a 598ci di hd on the trolling motor and there was some interference, but a ground from the TD mount to the battery and 2 chokes on the TM power cord and now it's clear as a bell
I just started running this unit this season on my ice trips. VERY happy with its sonar and GPS performance so far.
You can see how it performs in these articles. They are associated with ice fishing, of course, but they will give you a lot of insights into the capabilities of the unit.

. ive got the 597hd/di. mounted on motorguide trolling motor. i like this unit. it does a real good job. i do have some interference on the 800khz di part, but not to bad . i use chokes on the trolling motor cable just past the foot pedal,( keep the transducer wire as far from the pulse modulator rheostat thingy on the foot pedal as possible ) and have ground wire from negative unit to skeg of trolling motor.look at this picture, in the far right, maybe the last couple of inches. look at the bottom returns . theres the interference that i get http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...5-28090625.jpg
