The #21 Louisville Cardnials put the smack on the #3 Florida Gators.
That was pretty funny. How the almighty powerful, SEC team that was one win away from the BCS Championship game gets the smack down put on them by a team not even in the top 20 will befuddle SEC fans around the world. I absolutely loved that game from the first fifteen seconds of it! It gave me a good chuckle. Way to go Cardinals! Just goes to show the media is in the bag for the SEC the way they place them on a pedestal year to year.
I've been a Louisville fan since the late 70s, BB abd FB, this is the best thing to ever happen to the FB program. All I heard was how the Gator D was going to kill the Cards, it looks to me like the Cards D gave them a few lessons. I like that blue team up the road too, just not as well as the Cards.
I just hope we can hold on to Strong for a while longer, his stock just went up a bunch.
Pretty well rested at the end of the season after this powerful schedule. I feel the same about our VA Tech team, a schedule of softies..
2012 Louisville Cardinals Football Schedule - UL
So they were a 14 point under dog and were supposed to beat Florida? I don't think so, I think they are a whole lot better football team than given credit for. In the end it doesn't matter, there are no asterisk beside the W or L that denotes well rested of having you a$$ handed to you. The bottom line is Louisville has the trophy, not Florida.
Yes & Va Tech beat Rutgers:dono Like standing tall among pygmies.:RoflI like Tech, but have no respect for their schedule. What other top 10 team or top 25 team did Louisville beat?
I do give them credit for winning the game. They played well and were well coached. I just wonder how many of their players would have showed up after playing 6 or 7 SEC teams during the season.
I do really like their basketball team...:ThumbsUp
Well, I enjoyed the game cause I felt allegiance to both teams so I could not lose. Since my school, SC, is in the SEC I usually pull for the SEC team. However, Charlie Strong was our def coord at SC for several years and I really liked him. I thought he got a raw deal at Fla when they did not make him the head coach, so he may have gotten some redemption last night. I liked it.
Speaking of SC, how y'all like our Freak???
I believe the Gators were sideline distracted by that big red bird's pecker.
It doesn't matter now but if they have the same schedule next year and go undefeated, they will not play for the National Championship. Same goes for VA Tech. They both need better schedules.
As for basketball, I pull for Duke. ACC in basketball is like SEC in football, but I still like the Cardinals :ThumbsUp & Michigan:ThumbsUp
I've never considered Louisville to be a contender for a national title, and I still don't. We have a very good team this year and things are looking good for next year too.
Not a Duke fan.........at all.
cp, I like coach K,but my favorite was Bobby Knight.
Is this the same guy that coaches the Wildcats? Hope he didn't bring a lot of baggage from Memphis.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal came out with a haymaker yesterday, reporting that the NCAA has charged the Memphis program with major violations during the 2007-08 season, when Calipari coached the Tigers to the national championship game.
Yep, they sure are. And the SEC now has Missou & Texas A&M. Lots of schools moving around to different conferences.
Never could stand Bobby Knight, either. :Rofl
As to the Calipari stuff ..
That's old news ... and Calipari's name is not included in the allegations. Neither was he included in any allegations the NCAA directed at U Mass. The Memphis deal was a school violation ... an allegation that one of the team members had a stand-in for his SAT test (likely Rose). The U Mass deal was Marcus Camby's dealings with an agent (accepting $$ gifts).
