Now those are great Ship!
You are going to find a whole new world of fishing out there with those. There are times when the glow won't matter at all or might even be something you want to not use on a particular day, but in the long haul glow baits are a huge plus for you. Looks as though you have the glow mastered!
Now I have to find the UV charging light.
Nice looking lures.
The blue and red glow work well during low light conditions here in MN.
A UV led light or camera flash light them up well. If you are considering a camera flash I have a simple flash catcher that is very effective and simple to make.
There are many commercially made stand alone camera flash made, also one company makes a flash designed to light up glow jigs.
I use a disposable camera which I have modified for a flash source.( a different subject)
The flash catcher is a large pill container that is lined with metalized tape. The jig is suspended in the pill container and the flash is held over the open end. When the flash goes off the light is reflected off of the metal tape and 360 degree of the glow jig is lighted up in one shot. The container also helps contain the flash which can be annoying to your eyes or your fishing partner eyes.
Ship...Run out to Wallyworld and get a cheap flash attachment for a camera. Run some duct tape across the contacts of the shoe and load the batteries. Turn it on and when the red light shows just push the red trigger to the side to "shoot" it.
You can make a light jar using aluminum foil too....shiney side in.
Very Nice!!!!!!!!!
what glow product are you using and what company did you get it from, it looks good
I have seen several people using a Ultra flash from JR's tackle. This flash is designed to light up jigs, only takes two AA batteries, small and compact. This flash is ready to go out of the box and does not need to be retrofitted.
Send me an email. [email protected]
Uh oh he found some glow! They look good.
very nice indeed
great looking glow baits ship
Really nice Ship those will catch some fish for sure.
Sweet
Really nice looking glow Squirt lures. Too bad I'm too old to ice fish or I would be glad to test them for you.
Think I will buy one of these to charge the little squirts on my boat.

This is what I use. I did multiple tests a few years ago and UV out charges everthing I tested. I even built a 5 flash box that would fire off when you put the jig in the box.I ordered 10 of these with no problem.

wow those blue baby shed stingers look awesome how long does the glow last.
I do not know yet. I guess it depends on the charging light, or the sunlight, or how long they are exposed to the light. They will last long enough to make a few casts with. If you have a charging light, people tell me you can recharge them in seconds. I am still experimenting. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will answer your question Bob.
Most of the blues will give you about 15 minutes to thirty minutes of glow, depending on light source. Even on a cloudy day the daylight will charge a blue well enough to last quite long. Nothing charges like natural light.

Thank you my friend. That is long enough to catch dinner. Does green glow longer or brighter? Just curious.
The regular old glow with that eerie green color to it is the longest lasting glow....several hours if you use sunlight.
don't tell anybody but that is what we use today to make up some plastic baits we use florescent blue with the good old icky glow powder that we bought from lure craft no I did not taking the pictures in the dark but here is a picture of what they look like with the glow-in-the-dark powder in them.Attachment 111572
Those are nice Bob. I have to find some of that green glow in the dark powder for plastisol. I think that will become my go to lure!
Couple things here Ship.....
If you are doing the regular glow...that eerie green....get good pigments and you'll not regret it. You'll use less to get more zap and the better the pigment the longer the glow time.
Another trick. Try mixing up a small batch of clear with some glow. By small, I mean like an ounce of plastic and enough glow to show well. Open your mold of choice and using a small bamboo shish-kabob skewer, dip the blunt end in your hot plastic just far enough to pick up a drop of it and tap that drop into the cavity where you think it will show well when on a jig. Do three or four drops in the cavity on a 2" plastic. The area around the head and where the eyes would be on a minnow are good places to apply these. Once you have the drops where you want them just close and clamp the mold and shoot as per usual except shoot it slower so you don't dislodge the dots.
When you fish a bait dolled up like this, you are offering a smaller area of glow and the fish will not see the "aura" that glows tend to cast in the water around a bait of solid glow plastic. Instead there are just little points of light that get the fish's attention. Very often baits done like this do better than baits with a lot of glow surface.
In molds that shoot a top and bottom I like to run 4 dots thru the belly section at the deepest point of the belly cavity.
try a few done up like this and see how they work for you. This trick will save you a lot of plastic and a lot of pigment.
ctom do they make glow-in-the-dark glitter.
Another world is opening up with ideas to really try. Do you have a picture of this? I am so glad I did not use regular powder paint that you use for jig heads which was what I thought of doing first. It pays to ask good people on c.com who have been there and done it correctly before you. I owe a lot of thanks to my friends on the jig tying forum and the DIY Plastics forum for all of their help. I appreciate you. Now, having said all of that, some crappies might not be so appreciative because they know Old ship will be looking for them real soon.
this should be interesting if they can do this you can add the glitter to quite a few different plastic baits as long as it was transparent colors I was wondering if you can buy the little stars that you buy in the store to put on your ceiling if you can put them in the belly and if they would work I guess there are quite a few different glow-in-the-dark things out there that you can probably use I was always wondering about using the little lights come on when you shake a toy or something like a pair of shoes tennis shoes has anybody tried these little guys out yet it would be awesome to make up a plastic bait each time you jerk it the light would come on there is another one for you to look upon ctom I guess I'll have to do some digging of my own I definitely would like to make something up like that I still think that would be awesome.
Bob I thought I saw some glow glitter a while ago but I can't locate where now.
The stars you mention....they may not hold up to the heat but then the plastic shot into molds doesn't stay too hot too long so you may be able to do something like that. Lots of those electrical components probably aren't going to stand up to the heat. On a similar note, there was a fella three years ago at the St. Paul Ice Show here in Minnesota the has a jig that would light up when immersed in water. I have one of them yet and the darned thing works yet. I've never fished one, but they are different. Take it out of water for a minute or so and the light goes out. The down side of the jig is that a 1/8 ouncer like I have is as big as a 1/2 ounce leadhead. The light is located near the collar of the jig. Mine is a red.
I have not been looking for it glow-in-the-dark glitter guys we just ordered glow-in-the-dark powder from this company I ordered six different colors for 60 some dollars.
Glow in the dark powder and Glow in the Dark Paint, Strontium aluminate
I will let you know more about this company in their powders when I get them meantime we are using lure craft: glow-in-the-dark powders for right now.
I will try and post new photos tomorrow Bob. Have some that really glow.
