Why is my dock light full of water and still working?
Wait 'til the water reaches the filaments, and you'll have your answer :ThumbsUp
That was easy, so Staples says. I was under the impression that incandescent type bulbs were vacuum sealed. So how can it have a leak and keep burning? Been waiting 2 years.
light bulb is not "full" of water, but agree it won't work when the h2o reaches the filaments.
put it on a gfci.
Don't touch it while its on!. Turn it off and drain water out weep holes in Edison base. (screw part). They are designed this way to let condensation to escape.
Man you learn something new every day if you listen.
As old as you are Tom, could it be one of those oil filled incandescents?
It's gotta have more than 2 wires and not be above 24v, else, I don't pretend I know.
Sure didn't know you could drain flood lamps.
They should be gaskets on the bulbs that came with the fixture.
Never heard of that one ! ! !
that aint water it is shine:biggrin
I have a pair of outside flood lights that the lens came off. There is a bulb within the "flood light".
The lamp has a protected bulb inside of itself. Don't change brrakers out if they are not gfci type. Outlets are the only thing that needed to be gfci protected. If you already have a gfci outlet protecting all the outlets, putting a gfci breaker will create problems. For me bigger concern you be to make sure you have a ground rod at the dock attached to the panel for the dock.
Never saw that before.
That is one of those new bulbs Tom. Ya need to change the water every 3000 hours. :Rofl EB
The Obama admin wants to know why you even have a dock and demands you spread the dock with your C.C buddies.
unplug it and slowly unscrew it a half turn. weep hole is on top
