Great story Mr stallings brings back great memories!!! We would fish for crappie too eat then go fishing for bass for fun!!! had to catch crappie for camp meat!!!! WOW thanks!!!! We had a wire fish basket instead of a stringer was my job to count and take care of the fish!!!!! My Dad worked for the post office had a pontaic station wagon put the 14 ft jon boat on top on some home made racks!!! A White Mercury 9.9 motor!!!! sculling paddle still have it!!!! He got off work at 12:30 each day.We fished until dark!!! WOW thanks!!!!

Yep.....I remember that style of fishing......we had lots of fun and caught fish without all the mordern equipment and gear.

Wow what fantastic fun they were. Caught a eight pound dogfish on about a 200 ft (seems like) cane pole. I think I was about 10 at the time. I can still hear my dad rooting me on.
Fishing brand new lakes is history.Growing up Greers Ferry was brand new. JFK dedicated it before he was shot.Timber everywhere crappie by the thousands.Pull up to one cedar top catch 2 limits of crappie then go fun fishing for bass.Thanks for the memories TJ.Didn't know what we had very lucky to be able to fish in those days
