I think they're trying to start a new fad........."Hands Across The Crappie" :biggrin
Poor Yikess Has really got to be cold.
When I first looked I thought where did they get them waders. After looking more closely I see that them ain't waders. I bet Stan was freezing!
Heck, that was the second time he waded. He tried to take the rope to KD1, but KD couldn't get his boat close enough. He sat in his boat for 3-4 hrs before we got to him, maybe longer. He still went fishing after we pulled him out!!!! He's a diehard I tell ya. I guess if ya can't feel yer feet, you don't know they're cold. Lol

BTW, the Corp said they didn't own a boat that would reach him either. I'm glad they had some rope. Saved me a trip to Walmart in Batesville. I KNEW I was gettin him out no matter what!!!!! With 360' of rope, and only in 1.3' of water to pull in, I thought I was gonna have to go to Walmart and get 2 or 3 hunnert more feet of rope anyway.

Happens a lot up on ky lake. A lot of us have a minkota deckhand installed. That way you can use a grab anchor and pull yourself 50' or so at a time. It's got me home more than a night or so. Cold but home.
It's an electric anchor. Some of them are remote control.

glad they got out :cheers2
This statement is accurate, the big 4 have nothing to do with the Mississippi River flow. They are strictly flood control for the delta and areas down stream from the levys. They have a rule curve that they follow and will do what they can to stay in line with it. As far as caring about the fish or the fisherman you are dead on.
rees do a little reading
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District: The Mississippi River
Hve done a ton of reading, the COE lakes help keep the flow down during flood sitution but as far as keeping it flowing in low water situations they make very little difference. Was told by one of their engineers this past summer that they could have opened all 4 of em wide open during the low water situation this summer and it would have made vertilly no diffeence in the water levels downsteam in the MS river. They are flood control not help for the MS in drought situations.
ok
The dink hole has lots of water
And good feesh too!!!!
