Bobcat on the line
We have caught a few cats this season but this was the first that my 9yr old son made the set all on his own. He was thrilled to say the least. Nice big Tom. We have had a lot of fun cathing coon, coyotes and mink this year. Our rat spot was dried up but still having a blast.

Nice, what are they paying for fur this year. It's been 25 years since i trapped.
-
Frank this year fur prices are very high for the most part. Just this past saturday at the Missouri auction the top cat was $300 and an average of $100. Even coons are bringing good money with good colored 3x coon around $30. Heck rats are averaging $10-$11

That's a great cat, nice big tom. I'll bet that young man is proud, and rightly so.
I have a farm that has an abundance of coyotes and bobcats. I'll shoot one once in a while, but there's so little open area that they're hard to call in and shoot, but I have a nice slough in gasconade river bottom (my property) that is hard to hunt but would probably be easy to trap. How does one get started. I don't know anyone who does it so I dont' really know how to get going on it. I see a few rats around there, but coons, yotes and cats are pretty abundant, and they're putting a hurt on my turkey population. Somewhere I have a very good picture of a coyote trotting past with a full grown turkey in its mouth. Any advice would be appreciated. Maybe send your son up my way to give me some pointers, I could certainly use them.
