Yep I noticed a good many down there bout 830 last night when I came through, good bit of water too.

think i will fish the river behind the spillway im sure they are stacked up in there in the next 2 weeks you can prolly walk across the boats in the river
Actually, 2 crappie boats in old river parking lot this am. Both anchored and catfishing in the mouth if the river.

Dont know Cray, in all that wind yesterday them stupid pelicans were just out from the spillway house eaating shad, where there is shad there should be crappie. That said the colder it gets the better it is.
I think colder is on the way......
Honestly, for as little as they care for the fishery below the gate houses, they might as well let you use throw nets. Since the first year they allowed it, bout the only time you see em is when it's really hot and they check for numbers. That's about it though.

I wasnt sure Pops, things have changed then. Used to we could use a treble during snagging season, I think. Never did tho, always soddered 2 aberdeens back to back, didnt get hung as bad. Havent been in a while but who knows might turn over a new leaf and try it again. :biggrin
