Tournament on Davis Lake

Would anyone be interested in participating in a tournament on Davis Lake. I know most of you guys think this is a joke or something like that but it's not. Entry fee could be 25-50 dollars a boat. Winner would be decided on total fish in the livewell. Trying to organize this so maybe the population will get back into check and maybe the population would get healthier again. I've hear of 18+ inch fish being caught here in the past and I know it could b like that again. Leave me some feedback. Might even try and pick up a couple of sponsors from around the area to throw in on prizes or money. Etc.

South, its an excellent idea if you can get some participation, you could have 30 2 man teams and all of em limit out and it not hurt a thing. I'm tied up till Feb 1 now but if its after then I will try to make it. Know a bunch of folks that will take what fish anyone dont want to fool with too.

Gonna get me a state lake pass anyways so I can use it fishing Kemper when at moms, like I said it'll be Feb before I can make it.

The lake is too small to be stocked with crappie anyway......any bioligist will tell you that. Need to catch them all out

Glad you said something, I will just pay my daily fee then. The state pass at 102 only covers you and the boat, 152 covers you and everyone in the boat!!!:yikes
Gonna pay it tho, will pay for itself in fuel pretty quick when in Kemper, gonna hit it in January. Thanks for the heads up.:highfive

3 bucks to launch at Davis Lake John

I can do that, 7 at a state lake if you are fishing by yourself and 5 moe fo each person with ya.

my state lake permit is only 72 bucks......being a geezer has its perks , lol

Cost 5 at Davis without geezer discount. No the lake doesn't need them caught out because they are there for those monster bass to feed on. But people have just lost interest in the place over the past 4-5 years and that has hurt more than anything. Where people used to go to Davis to cat h crappie now they go and bluegill fish. If they diverted all of that back to crappie fishing then the population would be in check as with every thing else in the lake.

i fished davis lake 20 years ago and the fish averaged 9 to 10 inches in length would catch 100 a day perfect eating size with a 13 or 14 inch crappie caught once in a while the lake will never be right no matter how many you take out of there its too small to grow decent crappie

According to the State Biologist.....that is not correct. They tell me that they do not reccomend crappie in anything less than 800 acres now. Davis lake has no food source for crappie ( no shad ).....all they have to eat is finglerling bass and bream.

John, got me curious . What state lake would you fish living on grenada, the best crappie lake in the state , if not the united states ?

Curtis......John wants to fish Kemper Lake when he goes to visit his Mom.

G is correct and Kemper will suprise you, sure surprised me. Intend to learn it starting in January.:biggrin

Maybe u will get tired of hunting in the 60 degree weather. Ill kill one crossing the road sometime. I'm more mad at those Davis lake dinks than a deer right now. Think I'm gonna start fishing there every day.

Here is today's catch with a choice adult beverage. Had 77 total Attachment 109834pretty good day on the water. 5 boats crappie fishing today. Shared some tips and crappie.com with the other boats. Helped them catch fish. Was a good day all together. Great times with great people.

thats what they all say lol.......but I did get a shipment in this week of Charlie Brewer Sliders and I have four differen't chartreuse versions of them plus some of the other colors and I have just about everything Bobby Garland.
