I have a bunch of molds you could borrow. Stop by sometime and look them over.
If you have any lead you're wanting rid of i'm always ready to deal on some...the best prices i've found on molds Do-It Molds - Molds for making your own fishing tackle
The best prices on lee melting pots https://fsreloading.com/lee-precision/lee-melters/
I love walking around Zeiners store, those molds wrap around the entire store almost. You can pull them down and take a gander at them before you buy them. And, they have some pretty good deals on lots of other things. I don't think their website shows 1/2 of what they got.
Where's that at?
We talked a bit yesterday. I think we can deal on some sinkers and jigs to get you started with playing with lead.
This is what I found. The prices are good.
Do-It Horse Head & Pony Head Jig Mold

I will tell you that while the molds that do 2 different heads, or one of a kind are cool and you won't have to buy as many, they don't pour as clean as the pro molds. Less time trimming once they're poured. It won't matter til you start pouring hundreds of something, but even if that's for yourself it means less time invested.
X2 with Skeet - I will tell you if your going to start with Pony and Horseheads DON"T forget the cost of the swivels!!! You can get them by the 100 from Janns' (they are Worth Swivels) cheapest I've found or before prices go up again you can get them from Hagens by the 1000 which is how I get them. Also check with Robert at CAT he may be able to get them for you too. Trust me I hadn't bought them for years and when I did I didn't like the price!! I have all I need now!!
Need some links to those places Fatman.
I bought some swivels from an ebay vendor. #10, 12, and 14, 2.50 per 100, per K with free shipping. All the packages I've checked online and in stores are MIC. This was a lot cheaper for me.
captain hooks has a good selection of swivels and hooks
I couldn't find #12 or #14 swivels at a good price at that site.
#10 at 6.50 per 100 plus shipping, the ones I got were 2.50 per 100 free shipping.
I entered Zeiners into search, had to read 2 1/2 pages of sites before finding them.
They do have the best price on Do-it molds that I've found. Some molds you won't find anywhere else.
Here's a link, maybe it will help the next guy
Zeiner's Bass Shop - Wichita, Kansas
A sticky for all these websites would help.
Tell a little bit about them, location and such. And the link. Leave it at that.
If a post is made saying something about them good or bad, delete it.
Just the links
prices have really gone up at Janns since I looked at the swivels last!!!!!!!!!!!
Crane Swivels, terminal fishing tackle
Hagens $27.15 a thousand, this is even higher than when I bought them, I use them for making other things besides ponys and horseheads, You'll have to download the catalouge, get the PDF version it's a whole lot easier to get around in.
Hagen's Fishing Components - View Hagen's Fishing Components & Tackle Catalog
Check with Robert at Crazy Angler Tackle - he shows 100 packs but might be able to get you 1000 packs
Parts are getting more and more expensive - I make a chart and list the items I want and then check all the catalouges and list the prices and stock numbers - I'll pay a little more for 1 item to get reduced shipping overall. Ya gotta do your homework.
Terminal Tackle & Duo Lock Snaps : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
GREAT SITE, Good people.
Yep Grandpa Bobs is good. The ones for $3.60 are brass.
If it helps, I put a add on Wanted section on craigslist. My phone has rang off the hook. Swapped a man some jigs. He gave me 200 pounds of soft lead sheets he took down from a xray room. I'm set for life.
This may help.
I answered an ad in Nashville a few years back. Free lead, come and get it, tote and all. I sent an email for contact. I was replied with directions and address. I carried 2 2 gallon buckets along. Good thing I did, I couldn't move the tote. It was full of range bullets, wheel weights, large chunks of lead, lead pipe, lead flashing, and miscast bullets and sinkers. I saved some of the flashing for wrap sinkers, melted the pipe and flashing seperate and made 250 lbs. of ingots.
Thanks Stump, that will help a lot.
I've givin Gator about 200lbs of lead in the last few weeks. He might want to get rid of some. Trade?
Thanks hooker, we are waiting for a chance to get together for a bit of a trade. Maybe this weekend or next.
