Looks like a fine job for your first tyes. The tail on the third jig is to long for my liking but some fisherman likes them long. Welcome to tying.
I agree the third one has a rather long tail but still those are pretty good for first ties. You will like the jig tying forum here on crappie.com and should frequent there often.
yeah the one with the long tail was the very first one i tied and i saw that it was a little long and said well it can only get better after this..lol
My first ones I tied were terrible. I have gotten much better from reading the jig tying forum. Last year I started making soft plastic baits. 45 years ago I started making ice jigs and teardrops. Welcome to the hobby.
they look good. a far site better than my first tied jigs. just wait til you boat one on your own baits . BG doesn't have a thing on me LOL
They look like fish food to me, very nice!!
Those are really good! My first ones didn't look near that good! Be careful you will be addicted in no time!!
Really the place for this is the Jig Tying Board and you will have a lot more guys that tie there and probable get more feed back.
Looks good, you fish a lot of muddy water?
looks good to me. i bet they will catch feesh
Good ties, they'll put fish in the boat. Real sorry about your new addiction, you've had it now.
Yeah I'm an addict and I love it I got my first supplies yester day at 11 and I stayed up till 1030 tying. Already have 7 different colors and 5 of each I think I tyed like 35 or 40. I stopped because I ran outta jig heads lol
Lots of good folks here that pour heads and won't cost the farm. The store bought's might have a pretty paint job but it chips off real easy and they don't sell sickle hooks in the stores.. Learn to powder paint, not too big an investment, and buy your heads by the hundreds from one of our member sponsors and you'll be ahead of the game. That's if you don't start pouring your own. Also, use the tips of the marabou after it's pulled from the stem, don't trim them once you're done. Better action that way. Have fun and show your work, we all like to see the progress.
not bad for a first timer: those guys kid you that big one with the longtail is for catching big fish.
Look good to me, bud. Betcha they'll catch as good as the next guys if the conditions are right. Keep at it. Look forward to seeing more.
Those look a lot better than my first ones did. You should catch fish on them too. I've had a couple of folks tell me I made the tails too long on some of my ties but it seems the fish I catch on them are always bigger than the ones I catch on the "normal sized" tails.
good job ....... welcome to the madness of jig tying
those will catch fish
