Check out this pine I've had put up for 3 yrs drying. 10 inches wide, 16 foot long, and a full 1 and 1/4 thick. Bout to head to planer and joiner to get it ready for the table top. Not a single knot in it.

Nice, can't wait to see this creation. Know it's going to be nice.
Wife said it better be Cray. She been waiting a long time lol. I have a cousin down the road in the next county that has a sawmill, the log that this came out of was virgin pine and it was bout 20 feet long and no kidding it was bigger round than my truck.
Gdg, I had no idea you had such nice wood. That is some serious length and thickness right there. .......................
OMG!!!! This from the person who didn't get the weiner dog joke. :Rofl
Searay, I was thinking the same thing. I'm thinking Slimeyslab may have a bottle of cheap wine he's entertaining Getdagrease with after that comment.
Man all I can say is YALL AINT RITEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Thats some good lumber Sammy....you can't hardly find any pine boards that size anymore thats clear with no knots. Too bad you so far away....I have a planer and a jointer out in my shop.
Boy that is some fine looking lumber. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Just got back from the planer. Think this will make a nice table top.

It should Sammy. Are you just going to butt joint and glue the boards or are you going to make a rabbit joint....or are you going to butt and use bisquits? I use the bisquits a lot and really prefer that method.
Prolly gonna use the pocket hole just G. With wood glue. I have done em this way before and its so easy to do and fast. And as soon as you get it put together you dont have to wait. NO drying time.
To me, it is hard to beat butt with bisquits. It's really the best of both worlds. G really knows his stuff. Good luck gdg!
Not gonna do a whole lotta finishing on it G. Prolly sand it down to 220 and be done with it. She is wanting that antique look to it. Legs and runners will be antique black and I am thinkin Early American stain with a flat poly on the top.
Pocket hole is good to, it's helped a few times when I was in a jam.
Just really darkens up the pine a little Slimey. Not a whole lotta color to it just makes the pine darker and doesnt take away from the grains. Its between a medium and a dark brown
I bought some stain at Lowes a few years back and the color was "old pine" It was a good color.......I was doing some repair work in a old house that had 1X12 tounge and groove knotty pine on the walls. That stain matched perfectly.
Will have to check it out G.
