What gonna happen by weeks end?
I would also guess when that happens with the current flow stopped the bite is going to slow down
Maybe, but there's gonna be a lot of fish in a much smaller area, and I bet they still gonna eat!! ;-)

I wonder how many went out the spillway last week
I hope you arent planning on fishing the spawn this next spring, you shouldnt be rapping them pregnant females!!nonono
Grenada and Bultla are 2 COMPETELY different situations, Nader has more water in it ite now than Butla did last year when it was going over the Emergency Spillway, not even a comparison.
Y'all sayin Snoop Dogs coming to Nader? "Rapping"? Drop it like its hit yo!!!! Rees is ridin dirty..
Rapping is like a song. Raping is what happened at Butla, to a degree. We'll see next year. Hope I was wrong. Sho wouldn't be the first time.

If you can put in at choctaw it 9 to 17 feet in the river but man is it hard to get to the river right out in front of choctaw and getting your boat trailered would be tuff
Ignert gewbers. The ones doing the whining about Butla getting raped were the same gewbers going down there keeping coolers full of slabs. It wasn't a matter of not wanting the lake raped. It was a matter of some gewber not getting the memo the fish were biting.
As far as comparing Nader and Butla. They measure fish by the fish per acre. Nader may be bigger but it should also have more fish to begin with. So for "rapping" a lake at winter pool level, if both start with the same fish per acre, surface are will not make a difference.
As for me, I'm going to do my dead level best to catch the last crappie before it goes through the spillway. I bet I'm unsuccessful.
The guys who feesh thru the winter and battle the elements are nothing compared to the hoards of gewbers who take advantage of the spring spawn. Who do y'all think puts the hurt on the feesh the most, dedicated crappie feeshrmen who care about the sport, or a bunch of wild eyed, gotta catch sumthin', the spawn is on, GEWBERS?
I was down there today riding around and there was plenty of shad balls down near the gatehouse and levee!Nobody was doing nothin in the spillway!I saw 1 boat on the lake! The cows were laying down almost all day till right before dark!
Not trying to make anyone mad, but here be da truth!!!!!! Last time I checked (I) make my living!!!!! And I like to fish, and I like to catch fish, I dont have a problem with anyone wanting to follow me whenever they want to either, not gonna try to hide anything, but if some one else wants to make my payments and send my kids to school and buy my gas, then they can tell me when to fish. Until then ya can see my dang tailights headin fishing if they biting. :twocents
Alright guys just slap me and everybody go fishin and let mother nature do what she does best!If you don't want to fish go duck hunting or deer hunting or something. whatever makes you feel better!I can go to a hundred different lakes in this area and catch crappie, bass, bream , cats. They may not be giants but just catching them will be fun and that's what I'm after. Being one with God and nature!:biggrin
Wow
you can catch the ones that go through the spillway don't have to snag them put your boat in and fish the river they will knock the socks off a jig this winter catch a lot of fish back there too AND GOOD ONES
Well there ought to be plenty left in Sardis to work on next year! And maybe Enid will step up to the plate! With all that brush that grew in Butla the spawners that did happon had plenty place to hide!It will rebound as always. If they get down low this year just keep putting out the habitat!I'll prolly concentrate on some of the smaller hidden away places that I have found over the years and work them over for a season maybe!Get out and enjoy the outdoors!
Slablapper, I'm OK with it. Ain't gonna get that OLD subject started again. Im like feesh, I'll do what I thinks best, and I'll go when I want!!! To each their own. I'm definitely gonna get out and enjoy the outdoors, that's one thing I hope we all have in common.
If I've offended anyone on this board in the past, I'm truly sorry!! Pray for me to do better. If you can't agree to disagree and REMAIN FRIENDS, I'll pray for you!! We've all made a few comments that weren't popular with the majority, for mine, again, I'm sorry. Please let em go!!! Life's too short to keep lookin in the past. Lets all go forward, it's a much better direction.
See some of y'all at Chotard this week!!! I'm gonna try to rape em!!!! ;-)

I refuse to participate in this years "they draining the lake dry" post or the "they're fishing the lake out" thread. However, y'all are to be commended for the novelty of combining the two this year.
No, instead, I'm waiting to get in on the "why don't they shut the spillway off and let the lake rise" thread this spring.
Ps, I will also not participate in the annual "Yankees with freezers" or "dragging chains destroys habitat" threads neither. I'm trying to pick my shots and conserve my keyboard.
Wannabe...
I feel y'all's pain. There's been an influx of fishing pressure on the Tenn-Tom since the word got out that anybody could catch them. According to a report I got Saturday, there were 26 boats in one river cut that's only about 2 miles long and the majority of those boats were in a stretch of about 200-300 yards. It's a shame that folks act like vultures and only fish when it's easy over here. Why, there's folks over here that just ride the river to see where everybody is fishing and then they join in. No work to find em or anything.
Ah, they're using the cell phones so they can fish among friends. The last couple of times on the water, there have been a few members fishing the same area.
