great read
Good article....never ice fished before but I enjoy reading about it.
Ice fishing is on my bucket list.
Great information. If I was inclined to fish on the ice, I could use it.
Don't know why, but the ice scares me.
This article is chock full of info and well written. Although I'll never fish hard water, it is informative.
Very good article Nathan.....would love to fish together sometime. Your ice fishing crappie knowledge would really help on my home lake. It is full of shad and the crappies this year have really shown their liking to them. But when targeting them last winter, I did best with micro jigs and plastic. Go figure! Anyways....great reading and thanks for sharing!
No hard water in Southern Cali, but a well written article
Here in the north east, we frequently find both a minnow pattern and a lava pattern going on in different parts of a water body. Water temps have dropped into the low 40s and the fish are schooled tight and feeding heavy.
Very good info!!!:biggrin
Not going ice fishing but some good info.
Im ready fore some hard water cant wait :crazy:good read here to

I'm not much of an ice fisherman, but these are good tips.

Some very good tips. The tub mod is a must, sure makes for a easy pull.
Good tips. Would like to ice fish sometime.
"We pull them through dark holes in a white desert like gems from a forgotten tomb"
What an incredible opening line. I have never ice fished but I had to read the article after that first sentence. I really enjoy literary allusion in a story and this was a good one. Thanks for a well written article.
SeaRay
wating for hard water my favorite time of the year......................
Hard water - I used to enfoy it when I was a hard-bodied kid well North of the Mason Dixon line.
Now that I am old and soft the only real use of hard water I have is to add it to my Jack Daniels.
Not much ice fishing aoround here.
