3-4 will last all year.
I killed 10 last year and none of them even made it to the freezer. And none of it was wasted.

10 sets of backstaps is alot of deer, I didnt put up anything but backstraps last year giving the hind quarters and front legs to the church doing the food pantry thing. We still have a few packs left and eat it a good bit.Quote:

Let me say 10 deer is not alot to eat if that is your main source of meat.I try to put 5 or 6 deer and 2 to 3 hogs and I run out before season starts every year.On an average deer you will get about 20lbs of sausage and two backstraps,that's not alot.At my house the only meat we buy is chicken and i'm about to put a stop to that.Imo alot of the meats you buy in stores is not right.How can you buy a roll of sausage and two days later it's bad,something is wrong with that.
