My son and I went pond fishing for some fall bluegills. Air temps where around 60F, the wind was around 10mph and cloudy.
We had our poles rigged up with weighted bobbers and half of a redworm. We tipped the redworm off with a crappie nibble, just to add a little color. We caught 40+ but only kept 35 nice fat ones. Most were around 8 to 9 inches. These gills hit the hook like a freight train. Plus I love the color change in fall fish. We ended up with ton of bluegill fillets. We fried them up the other night. I used corn meal and ground flax seed, seasoned with Aunt Jane's Crazy Salt and Some Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning. Yum Yum
