There is a bunch at Nimrod.
I can hook you up with plenty at lake Beaverfork.Call me at 581-7157
I put a wanted ad on Craigs list. Got so many calls, I had to turn away some.
Be careful where you grow bamboo. It will run and become a pest in your yard or into your neighbors yard. Hard to get rid of once established.
Still need some?
Let me know, can hook you up. Or anyone else.
30 mins off col glenn exit on I-430. call 529-4303
Lots of cedar trees around the area lakes too. Most of the designated fish habitats haven't been freshened up with brush by G&F in so long there's barely brush still under there unless other folks have dropped some:(. I agree with setting all the brush we can, it's going to have to be us fishermen who do it cause the corps and G&F don't seem to be doing it in lakes I've fished. I've set several piles of cedar already and intend on setting some more. I've never tried setting Boo but unless you have it readily available why not use other stuff? I have put PVC in buckets but that didn't work very well, maybe you'll have better luck with it. I've mentioned this before on here but my dad has way too much privet hedge around his house that I plan on putting in buckets and sinking rather than the Boo. Instead of wasting buckets I've got some boxes to fill. I know it's cardboard but after the cement sets it's really just a mold anyways. Biggest problem I see to setting buckets is making sure they stay upright once they land on the bottom. I think we may arrange some brush going down and out of ours to avoid tippage once they leave your hands. /\ kinda like this in other words out in all directions from your bucket.
Tie a small coke bottle to the top of your structure. That will keep it upright.
I really like the boo. Fill your bucket or box, don't matter. Stuff it full as you can. Throw overboard. Boo floats up, weight go down. Sets upright. And on top of all that, it is to get out of if you get hung up in it. Can make big tall piles or wide ones. I like to take four 10 to 12ft pieces in my buckets, after they dry, lay long stocks of boo in x pattern and fix it in the top half of stocks sticking up. If that makes since.
Check out Jerry Blake website Action Fishing Trips and see how they do it. And look at ALL the fish he catches over them.
Unless the water level drops to low, you almost never have a bamboo bucket turn over. Even on some fairly sloped bottoms, we haven't had problems with them turning over. Unless, like I said, the lake level drops to much and they get out of water....then they will turn over. The Corp. put some out that turned over for that reason.
I saw something on a lake at low water once. Make your pvc buckets or boxes with 1 1/2 or 2". Drill a few holes in it, small ones for screws, larger ones for wire. Put limbs or boo in the pvc and set it out. When the water is low again the wood can be replaced.
And I should say I fish a deep clear lake where we fish 8 to 20+ ft deep. I would like to try and do some buckets with my uprights only about 18" above bucket and lay boo across to make a big mat and put in 4 to 6ft water.
That shouldn't be an issue as long as you use enough weight and use a small bottle.
I need some boo for Lake Norfork, anybody got a stash in North Central ARK.? I live at Sage
Put an ad on craigslist. I'm sure you'll find it that way.
