What a lot of great memories and a close family!
Those are some great pictures. They really, REALLY, remind me of my youth. Except of course for the stringers. Mine were never that big.
Thanks for posting ! Brings back lots of great memories.:biggrin
Nice story. Too bad the pictures quit posting from the picture of your daughter on down.
Thanks for sharing, nice memories :-)
Great pictoral history!
Mudfish? Is that the same as a grinnel? And what did you do with them after you took them off the stringer?
Wow, I feel like we might be cousins. Neat old photos you got there. I was one of 'em young fellers that lived on the other
side of the tracks and fished under the railroad bridge for supper. I can remember them old steam engines rumblin' across
the old bridges leavin' a long trail of smoke behind them. Neat story.
Those are some hawg bass in the pics!!
What happened to my post here?

Man...You jolted a vivid Memory of me and grandpa fishing in Jelico Creek near Williamsburg KY, nothing but cane pole's, bobbers, hook and split shot, a can of worms and a stringer. Never even heard of the word "Fillet". Great Read.
brings back alot of memories.good stuff.
fantastic
Wonderful article. I grew up fishing on a creek the same way with my Grandparents. I wouldnt trade those memorys for anything in the world. I would ask Grandpa why do you catch more fish than me. He would reply " Son you ain't holding your mouth right" ! I have three boys and cherish the times now when I can get them to go out with the old man and drown some crickets.!
Great story & pics. Reminds me of my childhood. But like someone else said, less fish for me. Really is good stuff.
Awesome pictures...Thank you for sharing
Good stuff. I was fortunate to grow up in a family full of fisherman. Spent a lot of time on the lake, river, and numerous farm ponds making memories.
WOW....Great pictures.....Thank you for sharing with us
Loved it!:biggrin
Great pictures. Thanks for sharing them.
I also have fond memories of growing up fishing from the bank of a creek, river, or pond. I also remember catching bluegills and redbreast on a flyrod.
neat article and cool pictures of your childhood fishing adventures. I remember fishing few times with my "granny" on their dock at Old Hickory Lake in TN. Wished I had some photos of those days. Thanks for sharing.
Curtis, what a wonderful collection of fishing history that you enjoyed with family and close friends.I love those old black and white photos! This article has opened a lifelong bunch of memories of my own experiences and fun times I had as a small child all the way to manhood! Thanks for sharing!
Brings back lots of memories of me and my father. Thanks for being so much more than a friend.
good story see u in feb.
Man I wish our society could go back in time a bit to when things were simple like back then. I find myself making things way more complicated than they need to be. I remeber when I was a little notty kneed hoodlum I would do the same jsut grab a cane pole some worms and head down to the Bayou and that was dinner that night. Not I cant seem to go anywhere or catch anything without my electronics and fancy pole and stuff !
I appreciate the effort to post all the great pics...brought back memories of my trips with my dad, uncle and grandfather to Green and Rough River in KY when I was a kid!
Curtis, this is one of the nicest articles about some great fishermen that I have met. Your pictures are worth a 1,000 words. I wish I had pictures of my growing up (catching fish) like you. Thank you for sharing. Brings back some memories of mine that I forgot. On sundays, mom would could chicken and we would go to the gravel pit and catch fish for mondays dinner. Wow what memories.
I can not thank you enough.
Chuck
