11-3-2014/ best personal fall limit...

Launched this morning with a slight fog coming off the lake just prior to daylight and with a cold front moving in, I knew this day would be good. With mallard hens singing their tunes, the thumpfest began.... First pic is of two whites weighing in at almost 4.75 lbs.

Next is a pic of one of the hawgs for today sucking down a 20oz. Dr. Pepper bottles..... I hear caffeine is addictive.....Lol.

Next, I took tournament style photos and weighed the smallest one which weighed 2.09......

The next pic is of the 7 best fish caught today. All were hawgs and slightly bigger than the other 13.

Finally, the last pic is the total weight of the biggest 7 weighing in at 15.43 lbs.

Midsouth white/chart. jigs tipped with a minnow was the secret today......and the harder the wind blew, the harder the thump! I seen several times today the ozark rods doubled over and I hoisted several 2lbers over the boat without a net!

West central Arkansas lakes were on fire today and I wished I lived closer to nimrod lake.........

Some Hawgs for sure! Must have found the bigguns on the Shad. Shad are working everywhere with this cool weather. Those look more like Dardanelle fish to me.

Dennis, those are some real slabs there, like the story line build up to the pictures, fog on the water, thumpfest. I bet those fillets were thick as steaks when you cut them off.

Guru- each fish provided 4 good size pieces of fish, fed 5 people last night on just 4 fish with all the trimmings. Got enough leftover today to have a fish sammich for lunch.....Yum. Only thing better than the fresh cooked mess is the next day sammiches.... Lol.

Dennis if I couldn't catch no bigger crappie than that I wouldn't be stopping by the bait shop to get no minnows. Lol good catch buddy even if you did use minnows. Maybe you could take Travis with u and he could show u how to catch them without a minnow.


Mid South, Ozark Rods and Hi Tek Pro Staff.

There is a lot to be said for the 2nd day fish sammich, more times than not they are just as good on day two. Got them tire fixed, it sure messed up the day I had planned.

I've seen from Conway's pics yesterd'y and yours today I picked the right couple of guys to pick their minds on how to catch these crappie. Thanks a ton for both of you guys help so far. I love my new Ozark rod and thanks for turning me on to Midsouth jigs. Now I just need some more time on the water and I look forward to a future day with a haul resembling y'alls last two catches !! Well done, congrats !! Maybe one day I'll have a pic to share, for now I'm just envious of yours !!

Casey - glad to have talked with you and I'm sure you will have great success with those ozark rods with a Midsouth jig tied on. That combination takes half the work out of catching good limits of fish when you go.

Great catch of some really NICE fish...the 14 we caught all thought they couldn't live without that Midsouth jig....next stop Lake Crisco.

Basscat: most crappie think they have to eat them to survive! Lol...
