you have a check list:Rofl
I like the expense account idea.
All around sportsmen should make a note of this.............
I can definitely relate to the off-season doldrums. I'm retired and underfunded, so winter time is tough. You can only tie so many jigs and clean the boat so many times. I do manage to top off the charge on my batteries once a month. And I keep them in the house so they don't freeze. Winter lingers in the norther tier states.
Sounds like a plan !
For me i pick up my ice fishing rod and go ice fishing
I like the article.
Luckily in Tx we have great crappie fishing during winter... no duldrums or depression:biggrin
very good checklist
I used to catch up on honey-dos all winter, but now I fish and listen to griping all year long.
I fish all winter. Best crappie fishing. Nobody on the lakes but serious fisherman and the bite is usually very consistent. Warm clothes and I leave someone my plans for the day. Safety on cold water is a must. Extra clothes and I try to wear my PFD most the time!
Great information and certainly helps having a routine to make sure you are ready to go.
papasage,
I kind of miss Georgia. I did my Army time about 100 miles east of you. I was an Air Traffic Controller at Ft. Stewart from '67-'69. I was there when the tornadoes from Hurricane Camille came through. It snowed once when I was there for the first time in 10 years. Traffic was a mess in Savannah.
i'm not much to fish in hot summer and cold winter either but always find ways to pass time whether its spending time with family and friends or working on home improvement projects
I'm trying to figure out now how long I can wait before I winterize. I'm still getting out about 1/week so hopefully have a few more weeks left.
Cute Dog.:highfive
very good article with alot of good info....thanks for posting it
Thanks for the article
that list needed a few cold beers add to it !
These are some good tips i will have to try it
Good article
Thanks for sharing but I can't understand not liking nice weather all the time.
I tend to spend my time wearing the covers off of various fishing catalogs.
Winter means sauger fishing.
I try my best to use this time to build rods and pour jigs and weights but it can be hard to get motivated. We also fish all winter long so that helps too.
all year crappie fishing in south florida sorry!
We are lucky here in MN to have a soft water season and a hard water season; So we have a four to five month hard water season that helps keep the depression periods short.
Right now it is time to tune up and get the ice fishing gear ready to go.
Your dog looks depressed take him/her fishing maybe give him/her a milkbone. I live in Okla winters can be cold, summers can be hot but a lot of days are fishable. I like your ideas for the days that are not safe for fishing.:fish
Appreciate your article
Not owning a boat narrows the list some, but I can re-organize and buy new tackle many times over during the colder months. Thanks for putting your thoughts and ideas down for us to ponder!
