Hello everyone,
New to posting on the site, but have been snooping around for quite a while now. I live in the Hot Springs area and fish Lake Catherine most of the time. I was wondering if any of you folks on here might have any Crappie knowledge for Catherine you were willing to share. I have sure been having a rough go at it. Thanks.
Welcome aboard! I live in the area too but I mostly fish Ouachita. Sorry, but I can't help much with Catherine.

Welcome aboard. Still learning my way around AR myself. Don't know anything about Catherine, but I hope you get them figured out. Fall fishing can be hit or miss. Find the shad and try to locate nearby structure. Most likely, the crappie won't be far.
Can't help with the lake but welcome from Marion.
Slab Junkie, I cant seem to have much luck around here finding people that fish Catherine much. It is just to close to home for me to not try and give em heck before giving up.
Big River, I used to live in Helena and drive up to West Memphis to buy Black Gold dog food for my hound at a feed store close to the police station. Then I found a pretty Gal that said she would marry me and I moved to the other side of the state and started feeding my dog Ol' Roy. (Poor Dog)

BTW, there is some great walleye fishing in the river at Malvern, and in the lakes too. Had a guy at the Xpress plant caught a 12lb walleye in the river at Malvern last year while bass fishing. I think he casts while he drifts down river.

There's got to be some good fishing on Catherine if for no other reason than it doesn't seem to get a lot of pressure. I know there are quite a few brush piles in the lake and I would start looking for them. Once you find the cover you will find the fish. I know Catherine fluctuates a lot depending on how much water they are letting go at Carpenter Dam. I truly don't know how the flow will affect the fish and their feeding cycles but I bet if you figure that one out you will learn how to catch them.Quote:
