As long as the "requirements" are met .....
these fish will produce the size that most anglers desire, in 2-3 years. But, they don't reproduce a new crop of "giants" ... you have to buy more, and restock the pond. Here's a more detailed explanation:

Also of note, the KDFWR Manager, Tim Crowell, made this statement : "When they reproduce they make one or the other of their parent’s type" -- this would be the F2 generation, that the MSU article is referring to. It would also explain why unmanaged/mismanaged ponds, with these hybrids, can become overpopulated with stunted fish.
