Shabbona Lake near the town of Shabbona. Best one I know of up there.
How far North you talkin? the Fox chain aint too bad.
Where exactly are you in Northern illinois? Mississippi river is good

I am in the Heart of Chicago. So anywhere reasonable. I go to the chain a lot during the ice season but I am new at targeting. This is going to be my first year to really try to target Crappie!!! Shabbona was an idea. I have a hand held GPS with the lake maps and you can see all the structure in Shabbona, So that was an idea.?????? Thanks for your responses! I really can use the help!
Sorry I can't help more with Northern, IL but if you're ever willing to drive up to the Madison area send me a pm and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.
Go to Geneva or Delavan in southern WI. Evergreen, near Bloomington would be the next choice. I live 10 miles from Shabbona and stay away as much as I can. However, I have killed them there this year.
