Is I-PILOT reliable?
yes
I'm on my 3rd year with mine. Never had problem.
Yes
Be 2 years in Jan for my i pilot and not a single issue, riptide SP with i pilot.
Excellent investment! Best tool for multipoling!
Having a little trouble with mine but it is under warranty and they stand by em real good so I am not worried about it too much. Hope it will hold on till December so I can take it in for repair, wont be fishing in December and I dont want to part with it long enuff to carry it in. If and when mine dies it will be replaced with another one, pulling cranks and pushin minners and I am sure longlining it just dont get any better. I like it single poling as well once you get used to the remote, best money you will spend in my opinion.
I have two and love them.
Thanks guys. I've got to go take an aspirin to relieve my fever!!
Best place to purchase?
I found my best price on ebay. Most of them offer free shipping and the Minn Kota warranty still stands.
I checked out my local dealer that also is the service center too. He was within 20-40 bucks and I figured buy local and keep up good standings. Ferdi aka Fred
It's the best thing invented since the minnow.
I got my Powerdrive installed as soon as I find one used an get the money ill jump on it.
Guys if you check Ebay there are alot of the older model Ipilots on sale for $259-300!
Ain't seen none no less than 375
Wish I had the same response as all the above, but I dont.......have had mine since they first came on market....had to replace the remote and now the foot pedal has quit......I shoot docks most of the time and will go back to older model foot operated when this one dies.......And the MK rep that i talked to was a smart a$$.
Dunk your foot control in the water vigorously. Clean the contacts. That what I had to do to mine
PowerDrive w/ Deploy Assist or Terrova mount???
I would get the terrova if you can afford it. Alot easier to deploy and you can use foot pedal with it.
The first remotes did have problems but MK is good about fixing them. The reps always nice to me. If footpedal hasn't been abused it just needs contacts cleaned, at most replaced. You can use removal mount and swap to any cheap cable drive for shooting docks, if thats all you do then no need for electric steer motor. Remember electronics hate water, they will work in plastic bag if you fish in rain.
