Some new ties

Doug that is just the kind of hair I been looking for in the bottom picture. May I ask where you got it??? I like it to do one of my early spring jigs. Was gifted a half dozen and used all but one so have to tye up a few dozen before the spring rolls around. Like to do the heads in a Galaxy black PP and add a couple of strips of holographic tinsel to the threadnecks. Have been using Kip tail but it doesn't have the same action as the hair that you have on yours. The variations that came out of Shreveport tier that is selling them is one with a red wing and one with a blue wing. He uses kip over the bear but am convinced that it is the bear that has the right action.

BTW I need to get your recipe for the blue PP in the mallard flank jig that looks to be a killer color. RM

man that grizzly hair is nice would love to get some to tie and see how it works here in Mississippi nice jigs fatman!

Nice jigs Fatman. Like the others I like the bear. The "Doll Fly" jig that was so popular for so many years was polar bear, just figures that Grizzly would do well also. All the jigs look good, but I really like the mallard flank. Good work.

Nice looking ties Fatman. What color blue is the powder paint on the mallard feather jigs?
-
Thanks all. First I have no idea what color the blue mix is, I got a big bag of different colored ones from a buddy on another board when I was having all my medical problems. The Grizzly I got in a material swap box on one of my fly tying boards and I don't have much left. About the only place I can think of is Moscow Hide and fur, I'll be checking it myself to see if I can get more.
I'm gonna tie a bunch with Polar Bear, that I got in a deal along with all the paperwork that went with it.
Redman do you have a pic of one of those jigs????

Doug will have to take a picture of the jig I have. Great jig to use when the Crappies go very shallow in the 2 foot range. You barely get it in the water and bam a nice slab will hit it. Fun fishing for sure.

P.S. Found several places that have very dark brown and black bear hair. Will have to order some and see how it turns out. If it turns out I will let you all know.

Moscow fur and hide has some half hide pieces (untanned) for $12.00 and up but you have to deal with cites certificates. I've never had to do one of those so anyone know the procedures for it??? That be alot of bear fur!!!!!!!!!
