Nice video. See AGFC | Weekly Fishing Reports for Statewide weekly fishing reports.
CrappiePro, I wish I could tell ya something good for all the info you have posted over the years, but I have not heard a thing about crappie fishing lately. Most of the time folks I know that fish there in the fall/winter fish in Little River above the lake around brush along the edges. Ive been hearing good reports about catfishing, but I dought thats what your looking for. Sorry.
Can't offer any info, but can't wait to hear your report. Would love to take a road trip down there one day!
I have a trip planned for Tuesday 16th to Fri. the 19th. I usually make a spring and fall trip each year. This of course will be my fall trip. If the are bitting really well I might stay a day or two longer. Of course I am a multi-species fisherman.
They are there, I have bass fished that lake on several occasions, and I have caught some sure enuff slabs out of that lake on bass tackle, some of the biggest blackest slabs I have seen in any lake in Arkansas. The crappie in lake millwood are the meanest fighters I have caught. Them crappie ain't afraid to swallow a 10" lizard or a 1/2 ounce spinnerbaits. It ain't unusual when I was there to catch a half dozen crappie while bass fishing in a day. They were some sure enuff monster slabs to.
Hurricane is just south of Horseshoe Lake on the west side of the river.
I like Millwood Lake for numerous reasons, specially for crappie.
Man, I'll say! What type rods were they fishin? Those fish were puttin a nice bow in them!
Do they still draw it down every fall?
Millwood is at normal pool leval now with no draws downs planned.Very little curant in the river. The fish are holdin close to cover in the 12 to 14 ft range .I fished Thursday just north of White cliffs and found good fish on visable cover along with a few brush piles. Was using jigs and the color of the day was pink and fl yellow.
Thanks FishHunter...I cant wait to get down there and give it a try next week. Little river, Hurricane creek and Horseshoe are they up the river I see coming out around Jacks Island and the marina on the west side of the lake. Also if you wouldnt mind sharing me the exact location of White cliffs area I would appericiate it. PM me if you like, I will be staying at the Jacks Island area next monday. I will be in a solid Black Lowe/AKA the "Dark Angel" come by and say Hi I would love to meet any of you fellow .Comers. See ya next week.
i know your right !!!!!!!!!!!!
When you come out of Jacks Isle you will be in Little river just bear left from there then, come back up the river and you will find Hurrican first then horseshoe and about 1/2 mile on up is white cliffs.Just stay in the channel when running it is marked with bouys, hold close to em as Millwood is very good at messing up a ride.
