DANG YANKEES .YOU GET A CHANCE HIDE THEIR BIONOCULARS !:biggrin
Heck, I think I was the only local in that hole today.
3 guys? Hope they had 2 boats. I think a lot of people may be unaware of the rule change.
Isnt it 50 per boat if 3 or more folks n boat
Nice catch anyway.
No worries, they took one to the bank and he took his limit to the cabin with and and the other 2 went back out to finish their limits, nuttin too it.
Nice haul guys, not sure about how many boats.
So in other words they broke the law. 50 per boat means 50 per boat. Not 20 taken to the bank and another 34 caught and taken in. Don't understand why folks like to break the law. 50 is an awesome day on any of the big 4 but 54 is breaking the law!! I don't make the rules but I do try and obey them.

let's not be too quick to judge guys. It is very common in my circle of friends that we all go in our own seperate boats, often we end up feeshn' within talking distance of one another, but we spread out first thing in the morning trying to find a hot spot. I know for a fact, if three or more of us traveled across a couple of states we would at least take two boats.
U hold em down Handi and ill make em stare at DD for 15 minutes a piece.
Wannabe...
56 is 56, just like 6 ducks is 6 ducks! If you can't count you need to be in a school house somewhere! That's one of my main things is keeping count on how many fish and ducks is in the boat!
How many ducks can you keep per boat on the big 4?
Lot of difference between keeping up with 6 and 50, maybe you got a bunch of toes or something and dont have trouble keeping up but I know I have at times and its easy to do.
Why judge someone else when you dont know the particulars and frankly the particulars arent any of our business, nice haul.
Wow dunno how some of that got in there
How many ever is in the boat times 6, no more than 4 mallards of which 2 can be hens! We hunt with 6-7 people sometimes and never have any problems counting that high, and have never went over our limits, not even by 1. It's called respecting your game laws and more importantly knowing the game laws in the state in which you travel to, to take game or fish, bc they are different in each state and different parts of states
And it's fairly easy to come up with a counting system in your boat to be sure!
It was a very nice catch for sure. Anytime I'm fishing out of state, I always make sure of the regs for that body of water. 50 is the limit for 3 in a boat in Ms.They found a loop hole in the law by dropping the first guy off on the bank.I believe they knew what they were doing. The bite was on so they thought this was a easy way to catch 60 fish!!! Sooner or later you're gonna get caught breaking the law!We all need to help Ms.Game and Fish by keeping their phone # in our cells and when we see something we know is illegal we should report it.They can't cover every ramp all day long I guess, so if we see something we should give them a call so they can come check out the situation!I'm not just picking on out of staters, but everyone that breaks the law.My 2 cents:twocents
Wow, are you really saying its ok to break the law if you have a hard time counting??? You said they dropped a guy off at the shore and he took his limit in. There is nothing else to be said after that other than they were breaking the law on purpose. Just don't understand your logic on this one.......

How is the new law written? I haven't seen a copy of it yet. There could be some grey areas. I am not condoning breaking any laws but just playing devil's advocate. What if a guide takes one party out in the morning then a different party out in the afternoon. The morning group catches and keeps 40 fish. Does that mean the afternoon group can only keep 10 out of the same boat? If two of the three fishermen in the pic went out together and one of them caught his limit and went back in, then the other guy went out with the first guy, are they only allowed to have 30 between the two of them? I'm not arguing, I really don't know the answer here. Could someone clarify? Thanks.

It states that it is a daily boat limit. Looks like 50 per day per boat is how I read it.

Thanks Handi. It looks like the way it is once the boat hits 50 crappie with 3 or more fishermen, the boat is finished for the day. If they took out a different boat, they can then finish their limits?
Thats a crazy rule because it can only be inforced if a GW catches you in the boat with three people and over 50fish......after folks and fish are out of the boat it cannot be enforced

Sad but rules are only for the good guys. GW got a tuff job.

Always loop holes in the laws Speck. And yes G it's a crazy law but its still a law but I will abide by it and hope others do too.

So it looks like Feelay could catch 50 fish with two clients in the USS FEELAY in the morning and go home, switch boats and pick up two different clients and legally catch 50 more in the afternoon since it's targeting "the boat".
Gray areas in the law for sure but I think we all know the intent. It's unfortunate that some folks can't play by the rules.
In this example Feelay himself is still legal because he is personally allowed 20 fish per day. He just happened to catch 10 in the morning and 10 later that day.
Think they should be on the look out for any truck with Mo. tags and a whirlpool dryer in the back.
The way the law is posted sounds like a back door way to discourage high volume guiding. A lot of hunters and fishermen don't realize that party hunting and fishing is illegal. For ducks, each hunter is legally permitted to shoot an aggregate limit of six ducks, whether they're hunting by themselves or in a ten man blind. The minute he shoots his seventh duck, he is breaking the law. Believe it or not, federal game wardens get real strange when birds are piled up amongst a group of hunters. By letter of the law, your personal harvest should be separate from others. Technically, the same goes for fish. Thank the lord federal game wardens aren't in the crappie and bream business...yet.
Going back to the boat rule- this seems to do two things at once- first it encourages party fishing without setting out to do so. Fifty fish per boat is fifty fish per boat regardless of what one angler catches himself, so focus on the boat limit rather than the personal one. Second, it targets guides. I worked as a guide for several years and never had a game warden raise an eyebrow when he saw client A with a limit of fish, then see client B with a limit of fish. That being said, I did not have a dog in the fight as I wasn't keeping anything.
The guys didn't drop a guy off on the bank. They simply didn't know about the new rule. They thought it was a 20 per person limit. I told them about the rule and they are going to comply with it.
You are absolutely correct on a pile of migratory birds! I always carry extra straps and we normally limit all close to the same time! Why would I waste my shells on shooting ducks for someone else. They will get that last one eventually! But back to the fishing! Sounds like they know different now, but should have known before even putting a hook in the water
