He had never really caught many fish and thought it was boring until this day. I think he just enjoyed hanging out with dad, though he would never admit it.

The longest journey starts witih just that first step. You now have a fishing buddy to mentor.
I believe that is key to arousing their interest. Put them on fish in nice conditions to start them out. They get hooked a lot quicker if they start catching early. There is time enough for them to learn that there will be days when the fish aren't biting. Good job with your boys. Take the iPod and XBox fishing with you sometime. It is amazing how easily they fall overboard. :Rofl
