Got on good bite today

Well I got out early this morning and decided to give the river try. The cool breeze felt real nice as I loaded all my poles in the water. The fish have moved shallow I caught the fish in 6 foot of water. Water temp was 77 degrees and slightly stained. No minners needed today. I kept a few smaller ones as they swallowed my hook and were going to die. Can't see wasting a fish. I finally got pattern going and had to leave for work. Only kept enough for supper and released others. The bigger fish were biting better than they have been in a month here. Good ol river, gotta love fishing close to home and with no minners lol. I might catch enough one day to get a fishing pro-staff position from some company. For now I am my own pro-staff and work calls lol. Tight lines to all you guys and gals. Attachment 102284

Nice fish. what's the river like there around here its rock lined with rock dikes running out every couple hundred feet I been trying it some never catch over five or so

JJ same here we have the slack water harbor and other various pocket off shoots from the river. When there is current fish the jetties. Brush can be found on down stream side as upstream will wash away ihen river gets raging. The fish follow the shad. Find the shad and find the fish. The fish were pretty consistently on wood till month ago and then they started moving a lot. Here today gone tomorrow. Every day is a new day but I have places that have been consistent producers. Key in on them and after enough places you can have a mess of fish. The river is a big place and takes some time to learn it for sure. Hope this helps I was once told the river was too hard to fish cause too many people putting brush out. IMO that's not what makes it difficult but the vast expanse of water to fish. Like anything else put the time in and the dividends will follow. Fish a new place every time u go to learn different stretches. Keep a log also will help.

Goose gave up on that ps position for fishing however check out Ameristep where I am one of the Arkansas Prostaff guys.
