guess that makes it a good day then don't it. LOL
Good snapshots!
Lookin good!
I was thinking "stomach" myself, but a change in scenery never hurt nobody. LOL
Those snapshots are very clear Don. What kind of speed were you running?
i am new to reading these screen shots, where exactly are the 3 fish so i no what to look for on my finder
I believe they're on the left side of the side image shot. It looks like they're hanging pretty tight to whatever that is showing up in the dark water column. Look again at the DI image and then you can see how they make a little triangle off to the left side of the structure. The bigger white arches to the left of the structure would be a bigger species...maybe bass.
That's a really neat shot, thanks!
ok i got them now thank you

Thanks Rickie
Don - Very nice screenshot for a 798. :ThumbsUp Are you running the compact transducer that comes with the 798, or did you upgrade to the larger transducer of the bigger units? Also screen color...Amber 1? I'm getting pretty good SI and 2D readings from my unit, but my DI isn't worth a darn for some reason.

That's about normal for the HB SI series units...they do not have a dedicated crystal element in the xducer for DI data....
The DI is a computer generated rendering from the SI data...
I have most of my DI views hidden on my 1197...
But then...I didn't buy my unit for the DI....
The best advice I could give for DI settings in a HB SI unit is:
Narrow for a little more detail....but less effective coverage out to the sides..
Wide for more coverage out to the sides...but less detail...
DI sensitivity as high as you can stand it before it washes the image out....
Here is some good info from Doug on DI settings also...

Thanks guys. Think I'm about right on with my settings on my 798. Still like the blue screen the best, though I keep trying others. Everything else seems pretty much right on. I also rarely ever show/use DI, but was intentionally playing with it this past weekend again going over known stuff and it just wasn't showing much of anything - somewhat disappointed, but oh well. SI sharpness on my unit seems to be about finding that magic ratio/combination of boat speed, scroll speed and side imaging width, and less about the other settings. Some of my pics looks pretty good, and some not so :) Love it though, and I'll keep fiddling with specifics...
