Wha? Maybe weak leadership, but I think our military is still just fine. Some of the strongest young men and women in this nation are serving today. God bless and protect them. One of my ex-students leaves for Afghanistan shortly. I have two others who are there now. They represent us with dignity and distinction......... Weakness is not a term that they know.
I agree that our military is, hands down, the best in the world, but I think what Torch was talking about is what the current administration is doing to it. With the planned budjet cuts, it can't help but weaken it. I went through this during the Carter administration. Fuel cuts meant that we couldn't maintain currency in our aircraft and had to keep getting waivers to stay on flight status. Had a hanger full of aircraft that should have been mission ready, instead they were canabalized of parts (we didn't have money for maintenance parts). Unless we make a change in November, I see the same or worse in the very near future for our military.
sad but true
well if they dont watch it we will hit em HARD with an apology
Military dont call the shots that comes from from the wusses that want to be politically correct the only apology we should send should be written on the nose cones of a couple hundred cruise missles.
Just like Maj I saw the same thing with Peanut guy. Couldn't buy parts to maintain engines and machinery and couldnt buy fuel to run anything. They wouldn't even let us top off in case we had to get underway in a emergency.:banghead:banghead:banghead
like that jim
I just found out this morning that of the 100 training aircraft at Columbus AFB, MS, only 20 of them are serviceable. Makes me sick.
