Who's doing what this weekend?
I am personally going to sit in a tree with the old stick and string. Gotta try to put a little venison in the freezer before the fall bite really heats up.

I personally aint as mad at the deer as I used to be, I am a whole lot more mad at the fish than I used to be, so I think I am going to seek a little revenge on the fish.
Too warm yet for Deer IMO
too hot for this fat boy to hunt this early. being retired now i can go anytime LOL! think Ill just drink :cheers2
My thoughts exactly! I have spent the last couple of months clearing my spot, shooting my bow and preparing for the season and all i want to do is fish. What have they done to me? Nothing. While Bambi waits patiently for me to drive by, then at just the right time he jumps out and BAM! Hello Geico. How does this happen?:dono

Afew years ago I was super mad at the deer, I am sure it had something to do with the two vehicles that I tore to pieces three days apart, the two vehicles combined for about 12,000.00 dollars worth of damage, after that happen I was seeking revenge on the deer. Now I get just enough deer meat to last me about a whole year and I am done with them, then I start building my next years supply of crappie fillets. This happens from October through January. Funny how the best crapple fishing happens at the same time as deer season. The crappie take priority.
I will do both as my oldest girl wants a shot at her first bow harvest
Not mad at the deer anymore either. I like to sit on the screen porch and watch them eat corn that I put out for them.
Too hot to hunt. Just my :twocents
No deer hunting yet for me, going after the fish this weekend. Gotta try out my new sonar unit anyway. :fish
I'm not mad at the deer either. I only went hunting one day last year, and I used to hunt muzzleloader, modern gun, and the Christmas hunt. I'd just rather go fishing, and it's nice to have the water almost to yourself during deer season.
I love to take my ole trusty Win 270 out and pop one or two and get back onto the lake. But I hold no ill feeling towards a man who is out there legally trying to stick one no matter what time of year it is. Good Luck i hope you nail the Buck of your dreams LMB.
I'll be sitting in the tree stand, but I'll be wishing I was fishing instead. Until that knarly 8 pt I been watching shows up. There just ain't enough time off from work!
I am just not ready to get in a tree yet. But I'm not real mad at the fish right now either. I think I will slip out to the milo field and see if I might scratch down a few doves.
I will be in a tree!
They have eaten our garden down to nothing with this drought. Now their eating our turnips and Okra.Theirs one now eating Brend's flowers:yikes Got'a resue the flowers!!!!!:cheers2
I'm gonna give em both a break this weekend so i can watch the Hogs roll the tide!!
My dad and I are set for a fishing trip in the AM, unless his buddy calls and invites us to his deer camp for opening day. If that happens the crappie are safe tomorrow...on 2nd thought the crappie are probably safe either way :biggrin
Sometimes I think I would do better crappie fishing with my bow.
