We were workin at a ladys house the other day and I noticed a bunch of em. Aint it late in the year for them to still be hangin round here???
That may be why we have so many, headed south. We have a few that stay year round tho.
This is the peak time for them. They are southbound.
We are sure covered up with em, they are some busy little dudes and fun to watch.
read somewhere one time they store up on energy and fly non stop across the gulf. want be around much longer...
Gathering of the hummers was this weekend in Holly Springs. Friday morning I had maybe 60 here.
I held one of our feeders in my hand the other day and they ate from it. Kinda neat. You can get a reall good look at em that way.

Cane I was there at Holly Springs. Pretty cool stuff. Them some fiesty little birds. If they encounter a bad storm while crossing the Gulf, countless numbers perish. No food or water the whole trip so any delay they will die. Gods miracle!Dude says shortness of day triggers their migration!
Looks like most of mine moved on this morning. Only seen a few today. They were all over the feeders yesteday afternoon close to sundown.
Think they made it down here, we got more this morning. Ifn you go out you gonna gets buzzed for sure!:yikes
You got em too I see, they some busy little dudes. Having to fill our feeders once a day now.
We hafta fill ours in the mornin and in the evening.
