I actually had one fly literally right in front of my face today. Pretty neat.
cool name . I have always calle dthem bugs love bugs .that is all they besides take the paint off your truck when they splatter on it . nasty lol
We got about 15 of em. They are great attention keepers when WB is at your house. He will jus sit there and watch em and not say a werd. I'm sure that's why he hasn't responded to this thread.

caught a female ruby throat today, she was in my shop and couldnt find her way out , she was plum tired when i got her out, but she did fly away.

I have 3 feeders that I can't keep full. If a feeder does get empty I usually have a hummer in my face. I don't know if they are telling me thank you for the food or get out here and refill the feeder. I best I can count I have 11 ruby females.
we have 4 that fight over the one feeder we have out, and those little boogers just dart in and out of the railings on the deck where the feeder is mounted, zigzagging all over the place. Very entertaining for sure. We have 2 of the ruby red throaters here but I assumed they were males since most of the male birds are the more colorful ones.
