I gotta admit, I was VERRRRRRRY disappointed. I walked over the entire store, and even asked a few of the "professionals" that worked there, and they didn't have a single Buckwheat jig in the place.

They sold out in the first few minutes. They've requested 10k more before opening tomorrow, but I told them my fangers were too tired to tie anymore, plus the trash fish population could not stand that many buckwheats released at one time.
You must be a brave man to attempt Academy on opening day. How was the crowd? Rowdy I hope.
The crowd was horrible. And them poor kids they've got working there are no help at all. I'm honestly disappointed in that place.
Makes me glad I didn't go now. Thanks for the report.
Take a poor kid fishing and they'll do a better job at Academy. That is whats wrong with youth today, not enough fishing time and too much time on internet forums.:biggrin
Stopped by myself to check it out. Boy were the goons a tools out in that place! Honestly pretty pleased with the bass fishing selection, they offer way more than anyone else around. As far as the kids... What more can you expect, it's still a big box store they just sell hunting and fishing stuff.
I went by the store today. I bet it set the record for the most rednecks ever attending an opening weekend, of course, me adding to that count. I have never seen so many cutoffs, tattoos, and pajamas on peoples in public in all my life. I do know that there were lots of bullits being bought, so if anyone out there is thinking of taking up a life of crime in this area, I would suggest waiting until said bullits are expended by said rednecks.
how meny fat people in SPANDEX :banghead:banghead:banghead
Some kid bought a pair of waders. Priced 149 or 159. . Rang up 11.99 He went back and got another pair. His friend bought 4 pairs.

Come up to NW AR this weekend, Cabela's is having a grand opening in Rogers.
I bet the parking lot will be full
Some days I think just another clothing store.
Just remember, TSC, Academy, and Lowes are all WalMarks of af another type... bunch of kids who know nothing about selling stuff, or what its used for. Take them for what they are, a place to get stuff, not help or advice.
Valid point. Ain't no experts willing to werk for that kinda pay either!!!!
