for tieing some boo together to make fish cover. Got the weights to weight it down with just need some Ideas on how to tie it together and put out. Wanting to use the main part of it and not the bushy tops. Boo is already dead and brown and most likely 25 feet tall.
:donoNobody got no ideas about tieing this stuff together????

Old car batteries seem to hold it down pretty good. Use some heavy zip ties and tie em up to the battery and let em sink.
Got all the wieght I need, besides old car batts is bringing about 8 bucks. Just got to get the boo tied together, not sure whether to use bailing wire and twist it tite or what.
Drywall screws or zip ties in a 5 gallon bucket.

I know this ain't boo, but I've done boo like this.
If you ain't wanting to use the bushy top, jus plant it. Make ya a stake driver out of PVC and push it into the bottom of the lake. This works really well when ya cut the top out so ya got something to push on. It also works good when ya got a bunch of butt ends left over. Jus drive em like stakes. Now get to work.

How deep of water have you drove in the mud in Minner??? Also, do I need to drill hole in each joint to take away some of the floatation of the boo??Quote:

Here's some pics of my driver. This one is a double stake driver. My single driver works better fer cane, but it's layin on the bottom of the river. It didn't float. I got screw in couplings on the handle and extension pieces about 5' long. I can go as deep as needed. Now get to werk.

John, Boo is about 25 foot tall. Cut the first 2 stakes from the bottom 5 foot long or more. You may get a third cut. And a good brush top left.
When are you going to call a work day?
What I am working on rite now wont envolve no work day, this stuff is going deep. Will most likely try to do one just after deer season is over, just aint no need in putting it out there for em to burn and move around and that is what will happen. Lakes at 208, winter pool is 193, this syuff will be going in 22 to 26 feet of water never to be seen again.Quote:

Deer season over, that's February.
Leave the limbs on the stakes, they may break off when driving in. Tie the tops together and sink as piles. Tie the stakes together with cord, a few inches apart, maybe a foot and sink them with an anchor. I have a truck load of brick here. Have to test to see how many stakes will sink per brick.
Yep February, whats gonna need cover for next year is under water as we speak. Another thing is deer hunters in the lake bottom makes for skipping bullets during the winter.

drill holes ( many) in a 5 gal. bucket and pull bamboo through them . you can drill through bottom if you want it taller . when finished fill with sack-crete .
Need a good supply of buckets
Go to walmart or any store that has a deli that sales cakes and stuff. Ask them to save you some buckets. They will take your name and number, will call when they have enough or what you ask for. I pick up average of 10 at a time. A shopping cart full.

how about those flower pots that these landscapers have , the black ones with holes in them , I GOT A FEW HERE THE SMALLER ONE SBUT THE TWO GALLON ONES WOULD WORK GREAT . CUT HOLES BIG RNOUGH FOR THE CANE NEAR THE TOP And angle them to the bottom oof the bucket go all the way around with them cluster and tilted uon the outside put sackrete in them then stand a few up . the concrete will make them stand upright when they fall .. make little blossoms . I think they throw those buckets away . just saying
