has no effect by posting pics and reports. Actually that is what this site was formed for in the first place.
Help.. You stil gotta find em and catch em
i think a lot of it has to do with the condition of the lake myself i personally would not want to catch fish in a barrel just my opinion so i see where some reports could hurt a lake
I don't think it matters.
Dont matter these, lakes been getting hammerd long before the inner net or cell phones were even thought of.
They don't help me none--you could say I caught x fish at x creek and i wouldn't know a thing about it--I just don't know enough about the lakes-I just end up doing my own thing anyway-but time will help.
This point excatly.....Its no different then the high fence deer farms in Texas that people kill huge deer in and think they done something. Any idot can shot a deer thats contained to an area. Just like the idots that killed the fish at bulta when water was at a all time low....But going down there day after day during this time and taking limit after limit. Yeah your good fisherman let me tell ya took alot of skill.....
I wouldnt post pics or reports, unless you want all us Yanks down there stealing your feeshes.
So what acceptable fishing conditions must occur for you not to deem someone an "idiot". Do you fish the spawn? I say if it's legal go for it. I am not here to pass judgement on anyone for how or where they fish. If you don't like it, don't fish there. But it certainly doesn't deem someone an "idiot" for fishing in low water. That lake is the only option for some, are they "idiot's"?
I have to agree with you about shooting fenced up deer. I'm a avid hunter and would never go on a hunt to shoot a fenced up deer, especially pay for it. Having said that, it's not against the law, so quit calling people "idiots".....And its idiots from where i come from..might wanna see about a spell check.:yikes....The man said a simple agree or disagree and you gotta start name calling....Chill dude
Once again its ok for some to speak there mind and not for others..Were i come from we do not care about spellcheck and speak whats on our minds.
I have caught far less crappie the last two yrs .(keepers ) on enid than any 246 ' yrs .or over. There are more fish in enid than ever before . They are more short fish to deal with . Jmo WOULD LIKE TO SEE A SHOW OF HANDS THAT HAS SLAUGHTERED LEGAL FISH THE PAST TWO MONTHS ON A COE LAKE .NEVER BEEN TO BUTLA BUT SARDIS, ENID, GRENADA FLUSH MORE CRAPPIE IN THE WINTER MONTHS THAN FOLKS CATCH . 80% OF THE DAYS THAT I CATCH 20 GOOD ONES ARE BELOW THE SPILWAY AND FREEZING COLD .
I just wouldn't be calling people idiots when i didn't know how to spell it....just sayingnonono
I sure don't think it hurts anything by posting them . I have ask for help on places and condition i didn't know anything about . People sent me pm's and phone numbers . The low water is a big factor . I don't mind telling folks i fish the rez .good luck hunting them down . Lol
I came to this place to get help and I have and when I catch fish then I will post pics and lake. If it was up to my wife we wouldn't keep a single fish. She just likes catching them and spending time outdoors
have you and a buddy ever just wore them out and on the way back to the boat ramp yall said dont tell know one where we caught these we all done it hunting and fishing has always had it secerts dont ask me were the fish or deer are cause im like duke im not telling the secert , if you want to post pics post them but when someones sitting on you hot spot just remember you told the secert
I take more stock in what is happening at the boat ramps, if the ramp is busy something may be going on, if its busy 3 or 4 days in a row something is definately going on. Last year if I were going to a lake the next day I tried to drive around it the day before and check the ramps for traffic, dont take long to figure out where to start. Have few folks I will call and tell which stump but dont broadcast that too much.
Had a good friend that fished the Scuna river side of Grenada for years, dead now, we rarely seen each other but talked 3 or 4 times a week starting in Feb till May or so. Water depth, how deep, and color and we were good to go.
I apologise Big C, to answer your question I dont think pics and lake hurts, heck I came up there during the dang FJ and only caught 1 fesh, lake sho aint in no danger from me.
Ya'll know that I am new to the community, but not new to crappie fishing. I was raised on Grenada and Enid back in the 60's and 70's. If anything, I believe there are more and better fish coming out of both lakes now than there ever has been. In fact, I think there are plenty to go around. More importantly, that secret spot of "yours" on that COE lake is not really "yours." It is a public lake. If you pull up and find someone in "your" hole, go find yourself another one. There are more. Fishing is supposed to be fun. Fishing is supposed to be about fellowship. Fishermen are supposed to be the helpfull, sharing, considerate men that I am sure all of you were raised to be. If you want to keep secrets, by all means, that is your right. But if someone else wants to share their knowledge that is also their right, and nobody has the right to stop someone from being generous. Remember....... Its not really "your" lake they are sharing information about.
With that said, I think fishing reports and pics are a great way to help the fishing community. I dont think swarms of yankees CAN fish these COE lakes into extinction. Yanks have been trying to catch em all out of Reelfoot for about 200 years, and there are still plenty to go around!
Wow..... <Steps down out of pulpit> That was more than I intended to say.
.Maybe i'm wrong, but I have been fishing Sardis and Butla all life and never seen this much pressure on the lakes. What most people don't realize, when lakeview shut down Butla's pressure almost doubled.Regardless what any body says low water and pressure will have a negative impact for the future.Just my opinion. Thanks everybody for your thoughts.
I agree with you. I think if you must fish a distressed lake, please practice catch and release. We all have more fish than we'll ever eat!!! JMO, no harm or judgement meant against anyone!!!! If ya do need em, eat em!!!!'. For me, the fun is figuring em out, and catchin em.

Y'all about done ticked me off. I've decided none of you are worthy of being crappie fishermen. Therefore I am going to personally catch out all of the COE lakes to teach y'all a lesson. Then you will all have something to whine about justifiably.
Wannabe...
Ok you ask for an opinion and here it goes. How does posting a pic on this site about where and when I catch a fish impact a lake any more than a guide who takes 150 , 2 person partys out per year and catches their limit and his also{think that adds up to 60 fish per trip}. Not knocking anyone who guides cause everyone gotta make a living, but if I post a pic of a days catch and it causes 20 people to fish that lake the next day it still dont add up to the pressure of guiding. Again its JMO and you asked for it. NO one jumps on the guides for taking fish outta these lakes and Im not jumping on them either its just an opinion but I dont think the pic posting is the problem. The problem is when someone post a pic of fish they caught you have people setting around that cant go fishing or dint catch any the last time they went out and they get p d off. YOu wanted a debate and an opinion well thats mine, sorry if ya dont like it.
