Most have trouble with the yellow wire. Hook all yellows together. if you want the unit to run without the lss box put a switch on that yellow.

congrats, it's not that hard to wire up/install, the hard part is learning how to operate the $*&^% thing. Rofl
Learn to use that export setting function and use it.

Wired up my HDS-10 w/SS-1 by myself. No problems. Toughest part was just working the wires through to boat. Got it hooked up, took my boat and laptop to the lake, and spend a couple days without fishing at all. Had a pretty good concept of what was going on after that. Took me about 1/2 day to get it wire up, from opening the box, until putting up my last tool.
Being able to use and look at You-Tube on my laptop was great. Just watched a 3-5 minute video clip, then play with the unit. If it worked out Ok, right on to next video. If not repeat video until I fiugred it out. Once I kinda knew where everything was, it was just a matter of knowing what I wanted to do.
