Any of you own a Springfield XD40? Any thoughts? I'm a glock man but have been eyeing a XD40 for something new
I'm a Glack guy myself, no experience with the Springfield, but the Sig 226 in the finest shooting pistol I've ever fired, it fits my hand like it's custom made.
[I] got a pretty good deal on a XD40 a few months ago. I haven't shot it yet.
My sister carries a XDM 9mm and seems to like it. She really liked the idea of a grip safety like a 1911. I'm trying to save for a S&W M&P Shield in 9 mm for daily carry. I should have enough scratch about the same time the newness wears off and dealers can keep them in stock.
I have one and it is not a bad pistol at all...BUT! I still prefer my glock 23's
My son just bought the 40. I fired it several times and loved it. The grip safety is a plus. I still like the 23, too. It's a toss up for me. I 'd love to have either of them.
I have a 1911 and i bought a s&w 9mm built on the glock style , really light weight and shot well . That 1911 is purty but it is heavey .
I have no clue as to why, but I ended up buying an XD45. I never even looked at one until today. And thanks to Maj I'm pickin up a Sig p220 tomorrow. Now please stop with the suggestions as I cannot help myself...
That Sig is going to be one of your favorites.

Major, do u think u can shoot better with a little heavier gun? I seem to stray with the ultralights. May just be me?

I don't really consider a G23 an ultralight but I shoot a better pattern with the Sig 226.
Ima 1911 style man myself--got two springfeilds--the xd is a decent gun--just not my style.
Glock is the only way to go.
Just get a whole bunch of different ones. Set up a reloading room and be done with it.

Going to be sending 200rds downrange for an advanced pistol class on Fri, will shoot half with the G23 the other half with the Sig226 to see the difference.
What's the charge for the IC patch there?
Only 50 rounds needed here. But if I was going to the range 200 would be a starting point.
