a mix challenge

You can buy about any color of powder paint on the market that you want but this will be about using some base colors to make a custom mix.

Lets see the color that you can come up with by mixing these 3 colors together. Try to use no more than a table spoon of each color or less. Use glitter if you like but keep track of how much you use in your recipe.

1. red
2. yellow
3. blue

Post your recipe that you use and a pic of your painted jig, spoon.
Remember it is about enjoying your time and learning more about our hobby. :)

Oh sure Stump!!!! Had everything out why the grand daughter was out of the house and didn't see this till now!!!!! I'll have to play around with this one too LOL!!!

LOL, Got to remember you have a little for awhile :) It will be sometime over the weekend before I have a chance to play also.

Ronny we should see all shades of brown. Will be interesting to see the different recipes.

Here are my results for the challenge mix....these are automotive powders..
Red......1/4 teaspoon
Yellow...1/2 tablespoon
Blue......1/8 teaspoon
and 1/2 tablespoon of high gloss clear...

Here are my results of the mix.

1/4 TSP CA. ultra blue
1/2 TSP JN. red
1/8 TSP JN. yellow
1/8 TSP purple glitter

Ha yalls turned out much better than my first attempt! I aint posting a pic of it. THink i'll add more blue!

Len - great looking color mix!!!!!!! Gonna have to add that one!!! Tie it up with some pheasant feathers and hackle.

Stump - I've added glitter to paint before and it never shows up!!!!!! I'm pretty much taking clear and adding my glitter to it then doing a brush tap or use the fluid bed.

Trying to get some time to play with mixing.

Okay - made my mix and got it the way I want and they're curing in the oven. I'll take pics of the colors tommorrow night, Hoping I'll get some tying time in this weekend. My daughte comes in Friday and I might??? get some free time when they decide to go shopping!!! LOL

I even mixed up a batch of Lens and came right out based on his recipe - I'll post a pic of it also.

1/8 tsp Janns Fl Blue
1/2 tsp Janns Fl Red
3/4 tsp Pro-Tech yellow
3/4 tsp Neon blue glitter (you can leave this out if you want, it really didn't show up to well)
2 tablespoons Pro-Tech clear

Yeah she was in bed LOL!!!!!!! But she wants Papa to show her how the rest of the stuff goes on, they're at a girls party tonight so hoping tommorrow. And I gotta get one tied up to show with the head color!!
