Story must be about a child's fishing experience with photos. We will pick best based on story and photos. Anyone can enter but it must include photos and a child's fishing trip story. It will run till Sat. the 4th of August. Slab has lined up some prizes which I'll get photos up of later. Get out and mentor our future fishermen and fishergals.:biggrin

At 9 months old he got his mothers nod, the approval to start his lifelong memories of fishing that we are sure to share. Mostly short sunday boat rides with a gentle breeze to ease the dreaded heat of summer. With enough patience to wait out a fish or two, it is already clear... He will share my passion for fishing. :) By ten months old Samuel already gazes at the fishfinder as If He knows the deal. Eager to touch the fish without fear makes me feel confident I will have a new fishing partner for life.:)

This was from a early spring fishing trip to lake Talquin when gransons got a chance to fish with their grandpa's. Tucker Jones and Harley Purser had a great time and caught some fish. Children soon forget the everyday events but when you do something special with them like ......fishing....Memories they will never forget.

Here are some pictures of a trip I took with my 4 year old twins. This was this first time momma would let them go in the john boat with me. They enjoyed the boat ride, but the real fun started when we tied up in the back of a creek. It was absolutely covered up with juvenile white perch. My son was in the back, daughter in the front, with me in the middle baiting hooks, unhooking fish and untangling lines. It was nonstop action of some sort or another. The highlights of the trip were my daughter becoming our official “worm girl”, she would almost rather dig a worm out of the container than catch fish, and my son preferring to fish with a cane pole over a casting rod. That’s all he ever wants to use now. What’s better than a kid and cane pole and a cork? We ran out of worms pretty quick, but that didn’t matter, the perch were more than happy to hit just our gold hooks. Now whenever we go out fishing they always want to go to our “special” spot. They don’t know this yet, but our “special” spot is anywhere we go together.

NIRNOD, you better subcontract this one out. I would hate to have to pick a best out of these great photos and memories. I will post mine next.
