It's been awhile since I posted any reports, but still keep up with reading the site. Found some time off between jobs and decided to fill the freezer. I didn't find much going on around Jtown, so ventured down to Midway. Water is a couple of feet low. Can't get a boat of much size in at Ed's launch, but Fowler's is good. Had some pretty good messes the past couple of weeks trolling the western side, just across from the big killdee. Close to the deep hole, but surrounding it fishing about 4-5' deep. Jigs and minnows. About 30 good fish each trip. Only caught 1 gar last trip. water surface temp up to 93 in the afternoons. The pattern should be good for the rest of the summer.
Made one trip to Portia bay and caught a lot of gar and 1 crappie. Water is a couple of feet low. Don't let the measly scoop of gravel trick you into thinking the ramp is in good shape, about a foot into the water, the launch drops off into the channel. Hope this helps some.
