We worked on the Catfish and kept our 3 limits. Then went jiggin for awhile later. We caught a good mess but quit because of the heat. I only have one good photo . Maybe they will have a few to add later.

Sounds like a great trip to me. Wise to be careful out in that heat. I can hardly wait till September.

Started out a little slow but finally hit on a good pattern. Lake Fork Lures are fast becoming our favorite baits. Pink 1/8 and 1/4 oz. jigheads are about all we are using. Hi-Vis 10lb. P-Line is now our favorite line. Granted my spools of 10 lb. Yellow Hi-Vis Stren are a couple years old, we hooked a set of fish weigh in scales to each line fixed to a solid object and done a stretch/breaking point test. 3 tries on each line and here were our results...
10 lb. test Stren Hi-Vis Gold...............Noticed lots of stretch in a 6 foot length...............broke main line, not at the knot, all 3 times at only 8 lbs of pressure!
10 lb. test P-Line Hi-Vis Green............Noticed right off about 1/2 the stretch of the Stren.........broke main line, not at the knot, all 3 time at 13 lbs. pressure!
Now we can pull and straighten light wire hooks and jigs without any problems.
We ended up with real close to 2 limits before the thunder ran us off. Only kept real decent sized fish today. Had to leave 'em biting but safety first! Here's a few of the nicer ones..........

After Catfishing we still kept 24 Crappie and released a bunch of them short fish. We cull closer than most folks.

Man, I love tying knots with the Stren Hi Vis Gold.....best thing I ever found...these old eyes can't see to tie a knot with much of anything else......but the dang stuff breaks too often. Doesn't matter what line I buy, I have to be able to see it.....
