Did a little trawling today.....

We fished from 7 this morning to 5 this evening. Other than the gar bite being on fire this morning the crappie bite was slow at best today. We did finish with a nice mess of 36 and had a good time. Glad to be home and in bed now. These 260 mile round trips in one day will wear a guy out.

Man , that sound more like punishment! Glad it paid off for ya. I jigged from daylight till after 100 and was worn out. I only go 4 miles down the road.

At the moment it feels like punishment, lol. Very few places to fish up this way without having to drive. Think the closest place I have fished all year has been 45 miles from the house. I always fish with a buddy or two so we split the cost and suck it up and go but fishing more than one day a week rarely happens.

Nice mess! Did you find the stob?

Never was positive on it but we fished that area all day from in close to the bank back out to the deep water. Bite was slow but steady all day. We ended up decent but could never get a pattern on them. Just one here and there. Did get a good pattern on the gar though, lol.

Jigs tipped and straight minners both. Quit using jigs after a while cause the gar kept biting them in half.
