Just kidding.....I hope he gets his power back soon. I remember the big ice storm here and we were without power or water for two weeks. Was not fun but we made do.

Cant tell ya how much fuel and generators I hauled after Katrina and then again after the tornado that tore up Kemper county last year. Took cash to my folks as well cause there werent no way to get any cash for over a week.
1/8" rain, if that much. Some wind damage. I'll check it all out after I finish picking beans this morning.
"Propane won't go bad"
I've got a piece of a 20 lb. tank that I can't cook with in the house. It has a strong odor.
No Problem Major, just about any small 4 stroke gas engine can be converted to run off propane or natural gas with a simple kit. you can get a kit for either dual fuel (gasoline and LP or Natural gas) or a kit to run off straight propane or natural gas. Several companies sell these kits as do most propane supply stores. The reason I prefer propane is it stores forever unlike gasoline or diesel. Plus, if there is ever a BIG disaster ie earthquake, flood, alien invasion, ect that disrupts natural gas delivery and gasoline supplies, you can still function as long as you have propane. I figured I could run my entire house on a 1000 pound tank for at least 33 days without any outside assistance.
A and C Propane Natural Gas Conversion Kits
Didn't notice until a little while ago but neighbor across the street had a huge oak blow down into his side yard. No damage except fence. Never heard a thing.
Thanks for the link but it's still Greek to me. I have a Troy Built 8500 with a Briggs & Stratton, I'll just have to hire the conversion out but it makes sense to do it because of the reasons mentioned, especially the availability of gas in an emergency/natural disaster situation. Thanks again.
Major, after watching the chaos in New York and New Jersey with people standing in lines a mile long to get a can of gas for their generators, I was reminded of this thread. There were fights breaking out, assaults, ect. They were positioning police and state patrol at gas stations to keep civil order. This is exactly the reason I was talking about for switching your generator over to propane.:twocents
