:dono
I never saw anything about it.
There was some talk about adding 2 stroke oil to your tank when filling up with diesel, think Big H was gonna look into it with his mechanic.
Lot of people put automatic trans fluid in at every fill-up. Diesel fuel is DRY these days days, not much oil in it at all.
Mine way past any warranty, 96 model with 270k on it, hope to get another 200 k out if it

Filter some used motor oil and add it. Clean it up some more.
BW, I like your cap, looks like me with the skido's.
I guarantee you won't be disappointed! I run it in my 79 Benz diesel I drive to work!
Put a gallon of trans fluid in an old International(much like the 7.3) at work and it ran like a champ.....Main thing is keeping injectors and oil clean...Wanna hear the Truck mans response
We run 10 fuel trucks every day. We have not had a problem with em and they run about 2500 miles a week. Ultra low sulfur diesel not doubt has far less lubricity in it, which in turn is probably harder on the motor. Some kind of oil will help with lubing motors.
nononononono don't do that, you can't filter out enough of the carbon residue. On the newer engines the tolerances on pumps and injectors are to tight and that slight bit of carbon will ruin them. Marvel Mystery oil, power steering fluid, outboard oil works well. Which ever you can find cheaper. For pickups about 6 oz to the tank.
I have yet to hear from pork chop aka BigH but I am the one that said that and I have been doing it for a few years with nothing but good things to say about it. I was told about it from my buddy who has been a diesel mechanic for 20+ years.
Also know Cummings says to put 1.75 gallons of used motor oil per 30 gallon tank on there big generators.
So 16 oz per tank with my dual tanks on my Ford should it. Will start this on the next fill up. I am sure I could use some injectors but I do run that good diesel additive once a month and it helps. Getting 14 or 15 now and am curious to see how much difference it makes. 14 is on these hot days when I have alot of running around to do in and out of the truck, motor dont shut off and the AC keeps on blowing until it gets back in the driveway.:biggrin
Well, filled up today after running my first dose of added oil. Been getting 14 to 15 so 14.5 average I guess. Todays fill up I got 16.5. Not using high dollar oil, just the Wally World 2 stroke out of the gallon jug at about 10 cents an ounce. Filled up a little while ago for 3.35 a gallon which, sad to say, is the cheapest I have bought diesel in a very long time.
Thanks for the update, was wondering.
Now if I can find someone to fix the leak on the back of the heads where the return fuel lines are I will be in business. Does crank easier seems like.
See what had happend was........
Wait for it
Wait for it………
I told ya so!!!!
And is starting to idle smother too.
Its getting better for sure. Now tell me who can fix my fuel lines
Any shop with a two post lift.
i drive a diesel truck every day and put 70,000 + miles a year on it. I have had a 7.3 liter ford, a 5.9 liter dodge and am currently in a 6.6 duramax. I have put 450,000-500,000 on each of these without any major engine problems and have never put anything but diesel fuel in them. why fix it if it aint broke?
We use to put transmission fluid in the tanks of the diesels we drove seemed to make them run faster. long time ago .
Agreed, wouldnt do it if mine was under warranty for sure.
You can run b10 and gain some lubricity back.
b10=10% biodiesel and 90% regular diesel (ULSD)
ps ULSD is ultra low sulfer diesel that is currently required. Boats and trains (and generators and few other things) still use the old nasty (ie high sulfer) diesel.
Guess the ultra low sulfer is why t is so high, remember when diesel was always cheaper than gas.
