My buddy tried to convince me that I needed to try some fried trout, he said i'd never eat it baked again. So I tried it, never eatin it fried again either.
I guess I ruin a trout cause i remove the head before I cook 'em.:rolleyes::):)
Well I was told you can fillet them dudes and fry em up making them better. I tried, and you just can't hardly get all the little bones out, won't be doing that again.Quote:

RoflI'll agree with Nimrod more brush in the lakes will probably benefit the white perch about as well as more stocking. Some of these lakes just don't have much in the way of brush and while some lakes may have had brush in the past an older lake's brush all falls down and then it needs new brush in it's place. We need a fence row project, condo's, boo-buckets, ect. There's always some brush that needs cutting down and the little extra time it takes to tie rock on one end and toss it in the lake would be well worth it.Quote:

Look at the price of a bobber at wal-mart,Look at the price of a( strike indicator) need I say more.In our local wal-mart if you don,t BASS FISH OR TROUT FISH you are out can't even buy a decent catfish hook have to order them or make them yourself. Their must be something to the trout fishing.Use to do a little guiding for trout had 13 different parties around one 4th of july weekend. It don't take much to catch the stockers but when you get into the German Browns a 20 or 30 lb er thats another story.I am with "constructskeeter" I will be on a catfish hole or crappie hole myself this weekend!!!! We have cooked them"trout" everyway they can be cooked.I guess thats why the restruant business is so great up their. float down the river for 5 miles hi water low water don'st matter.Catch trout all day then go eat catfish at "Jo,Jo's on the White river or eat at Gaston's below bull shoals have their on( air strip)can't beat it even have boats built just for trout fishing very relaxing.Need to try this once!!!!!! No not even close to fresh crappie or southern fried catfish!!!!
Hey, as long as that big truck is backing up to the ramp and dumping them 10" trout out, and them silly fellers are standing out there trying to catch em, they ain't dipping a jig around my tree tops! They can have it. I tried it one day last week, I'm going fishing for real in the morning.
I'd certainly rather have crappie over trout, but Ive had fried trout fillet, they taste pretty good to me. These around here are pretty small. I dont know if that makes any difference or not.
I like to catch them trouts, 3-4 pounders fight good in swift water. Soak them in brown sugar and salt brine, and smoke over hickory and pecan wood.....Real good
